Elaina Fortier: A gift for my mom. She used it a couple times and it worked good!

kaleah: I’ve made a couple vases & drinking glasses using this cutter & kombucha bottles. I haven’t tried the square cutting option yet, but I’m very happy with this bottle cutter. YouTube has some great videos on how to separate the pieces after scoring & how to sand your cuts to make them smooth & not sharp.

GetYerGames: Not worth the money. Very difficult to use and forget about cutting a square bottle which is impossible to get a clean score and why I purchased it. I wound up making my own cutting jigs for square bottles by mounting a glass cutter on pieces of 2 x 4's I clamp to my work table. For round bottles it isn't much better. Creators bottle cutter is far superior.

Q. Chen: Haven't tried cutting round bottles yet but the set-up isn't good for cutting square bottles. Its hard to get the corners and I tried on three different square-shaped bottles I had: none of them broke along the etched seam and they're bound for recycling now.

Pantagruel: I first tried the round bottles only version and was able to trim an 8 inch cylindrical candle holder to a height of a bit over 6 inches. I then saw that there was a version that also handled square bottles and got that (returned the first one--the company was very nice about it and email customer service was very good). So far, I've only tried trimming one square jar with this second version (Kensington mayonnaise), which is harder to do than the cylindrical bottles. The gadget works really well, but you do need to develop some finesse/technique: the amount of pressure, the angle of the blade, how many times you alternate hot and cold water (depends in part on thickness of the glass, I think). I still get vertical or oblique cracks that go below the line I am aiming for (these manifest during the hot water application--you can't see them ahead of time), so I try to be flexible with the height I want and to have several of the same bottle, so I can fine tune the technique. The metal frame on this second glass cutter is slightly warped, so the rollers don't sit horizontally ; they're slightly dipped, maybe 5 degrees or so. I don't think this is affecting the...
