TinoTino: Appareil correct pour le prix, j'envoie une photo pour faire voir comment je modifie le procédé car il est bien conçu pour couper un haut de bouteille, mais dans mon cas je voulais couper le fond pour confectionner des mangeoires à oiseaux, donc je suis obligé de faire comme ceci sinon je coupe une trop grande longueur.
Sinon c'est pratique dommage que l'huile de coupe n'est pas fourni dans ce pack, et il aurait été pratique d'avoir une pointe de rechange. Satisfait de mon achat, reçu en un jour avec Amazon Prime comme d'habitude. Je recommande.

Mrs Mia Wallace: When I first got this, I tried a few bottles & they all ended up either super jagged or with cracks everywhere. So I got annoyed & put it in the Dungeon of Abandoned Crafts. But Christmas is coming & I’ve been dying to make candles & the usual mass market mason jars are just so boring & ubiquitous. I decided I’d try again.

After a lot of trial & error, here are my takeaways:

-you cannot let it wobble. I use one hand to hold the base tight against the L bracket & use the other hand to provide medium pressure from the top while I slowly rotate it. I do this from a standing position over a desk so my weight adds to my leverage. Trying to do it on the kitchen counter height wasn’t as effective.

-Listen carefully & you will hear the tone change when it hits the back of the score again, then stop. Don’t double score.

-Get a gooseneck electric kettle. That tiny water stream of boiling water is what you need.

-hold the base of the vessel & pour the boiling water in a thin stream just along the score mark while slowly turning the vessel. I use about half a kettle of water per bottle. Make sure it’s angled so...

Rebekah Donelson: I knew I would need to practice a time or two and not use my favorite bottles first. I had watched a couple of videos before using the glass cutter, but after one try it became clear I needed to do some more research. In a nutshell, the tool works very well - just as I had expected it to - with only two exceptions. Read below for those. The ancillary materials are sorely lacking, in my opinion. Keep reading for some details and tricks that worked for me if you are a newbie glass bottle cutter. It is fun and though my husband tells me drinking glasses from wine bottles went out with tie-dye, I know better. People still make and wear tie-dye, and people still like drinking glasses made from wine bottles.

Tool exceptions: 1) the nut that tightens the metal "L" bracket down needs to be tightened down with pliers; this was the problem with my first scoring - the bottle moved because the nut was only hand tightened (and I'm a pretty strong girl). 2) the "L" bracket should either be longer or shorter; when working with a Riesling bottle I could not get the scorer in the position I really wanted it in, no matter which direction I put the bracket.
