Nicholas: I bought one of these because it's now bizarrely difficult to find a smoke/CO2 detector that uses a 9V battery and doesn't have a built in permanent battery, the latter of which with I've had nothing but bad experiences with. This new one seems to work okay, but the design/construction is a little wonky, but I guess it's fine.
