Matt Clark: Creates a lot of magnesium and when striking produces a lot of sparks. It was easy to start a fire with very quickly!!! Will buy a few more for the future.

Sarah B.: The whole thing looks like a serious outdoorsman could use this for a very, very long time. Quality is by far better than two others I’ve bought. . Rod is three times the size of the others, striker won’t bend over time and the handle is “solid.”
I ordered 3 different Mg rods with plans try them out. The best one would stay in the regular camping kit, the ones we didn’t like could go to scout camp and the emergency kit. The quality difference between this one and the other two was striking (couldn’t resist). The other two “average” rods look like Walmart knock-offs.
