JSmithJSmith: I have not tried this rod out. It's actually a gift. However, I thoroughly inspected the workmanship a d the build quality is excellent! Very clean finish on the epoxy. Threads are nicely laid out and neat. The packaging was great. I will be buying another for myself. After I use that one I will leave another review.

Matt Moree: I just received this rod today but looks very well built feels great a little have but I’m good with that for the price. I won’t get to fish with it until the end of may. But I’m going to try it with heavy weight in the pound this weekend just to get an idea of how it will handle large fish. Will update this review when I have used the rod. As far as appearance and feel so far I like it!

Wild Bill: I added a Diawa 6500 reel and have caught gag grouper, red snapper and a 52# Amberjack on this while jigging in anywhere from 100 to 325' of water in the gulf. No problems, no issues. Rod has performed excellent for 1/4 of the money for one of the big name rods. If I would have one negative, it would be after 5-6 hrs, it does get a little heavy with a larger size reel on it. I would definitely recommend. If you're a charter captain and are looking for cheaper priced rods that perform great, this is it.

Amazon Customer: So I was apprehensive about this going in. It arrived today and I’m impressed with the packaging. The rod is beautiful, and appears well made the rod seat is well made and holds the reel very well. So this review is simply review the f the arrived rod. Haven’t caught any fish as of yet.
As for the cons, this rod is very heavy to hold for any length of time. For a jigging rod im not sure you’d be able to jig for a full morning. Glad it’s my sons rod and not mine. Still it appears to be a good deal for the price point.
