logan rudd: Overall look in build of the rod seems to be nice. Castability is very disappointing. If purchased, I would recommend using the heaviest weights the rod can handle, because the rod does not load up enough with smaller lead weights to cast very far. I’ve already purchased a pen squadron to replace it.

zqcakubdhpzqcakubdhp: The media could not be loaded. Really easy to throw crab snares out into the sweet zone in the surf. Never used a 13 foot pole before, but I got the hang of it after like 3 casts. Next I'll try it on rockfish, which is much easier on the pole!

Chris: Purchased the 9ft 3-piece version. Needed something compact that would fit in my car truck without folding down the rear seats. This 9ft 3-piece rod fits perfectly. The action is smooth and responsive. After reading previous reviews on the fit of the rods into the ferules, I agree with everyone with the opinion that the fit is very tight. I had to file down the rod ends to make it fit smoother into the ferule openings, which made it easier to disassemble. Be sure to clean the rod with fresh water, especially the ferule ends, after every use. If not, then you'll experience a "gritty" feel when you try to reassemble the rod. The line guides are aligned perfectly. Reel seat fitted with my KastKing Sharky 4000, spooled with KastKing SuperPower Braid 30#. The included storage bag is handy, but can not accommodate the reel. The bag has 3 slots, each for the individual rod piece, and is sized accordingly to the size of the guides. I've casted from 1-3 ounces with no problems.
Pros:
Compact storage.
Sensitive response for better feel of fish hits.
Cons:
Ferrule guides must be sanded/filed down for proper fit into ferule opening before first time assembly.
