S, Van Buren: The mill that I received was missing one of the bearings for the adjustment roller. Without the bearing it was impossible to set the adjustment gap properly.
Update: Amazon promptly refunded my purchase on the defective mill. I purchased another one to replace it. This mill works as advertised. It does a very good job on barley. 1 pass and it’s ready to go!

G. Sylvester: Used it for the first time today. I built my own base for it to go on a 5 gallon bucket. I docked one star because the handle is pretty wobbly causing it to periodically bump into the base when manually cranking. It was never at risk of falling off, but just wiggles. Setting the gap seemed pretty easy. Assembling it was not a problem at all, following the directions was all it took for me. Hopper isn't quite as big as stated, but I have no problem refilling it a couple times. All in all, I'm really happy with this. Seems high quality.
I used some compressed air afterward to keep it clean.

Colin Cameron: Overall I'm happy with this as my first grain mill. It does a good job and is one of the least expensive mills out there.

That being said, assembling the hopper was a bit of a pain because the screws and nuts are so small. Using this with the hand crank works ok, but it's hard to crank and hold it steady at the same time, and it's just tiring. You can attach a drill, but there aren't any flat spots for the drill chuck to grab onto and when setting to a very small gap the drill couldn't get a good grip and it would just spin around the crankshaft. I fixed this by grinding down a flat spot for the drill to grip onto and it works like a charm now.

Doug Keown: I've been using this mill for about a month now, milled about 50 pounds of 2 row and the likes. Had some problems to start with, but ended up being user error. To tight of gap and running the drill to fast. To start with the assembly isn't to bad. Remove the blue film to start. A Phillips screw driver and a wrench or pair of pliers are about all you need. Assemble the cone then mount it to the grinder. I mounted mine to a 5 gallon bucket lid. Be sure to check all of the nut bolts and screws and make sure there tight.
Setting the gap is probably the hardest part. I used a credit card to start with which is about .030 of an inch did a small test run then increased the gap to .045 inches. Make sure to keep the rollers parallel to each other and recheck your gap after your tighten the locking bolts. I didn't find the little marks for the width of gap to be even close to accurate or even in the ballpark. A feeler gage works best for this. Good investment makes this part easier.
I use my cordless drill set on the low speed. Keep the rpms slow. You want the drill to turn about as fast as if you were using the hand crank. If the speed is to high the grain will stop...
