Make sure to get your hands on this grain mill today!Mountain Mom: This comes in a nice, compact box. It is simple to assemble. I ran raw rice through it first to clear any metal debris, but I didn’t see any. Grinds into a nice, fine flour. For emergency preparation, it is just right. The crank is easy to turn, and does have the option to purchase an additional electric powered attachment. That would help to grind flour much faster. By hand, this is easy but takes some time.

Steve Taylor: With windmill farms showing up everywhere and reliable energy sources going away there will even be rolling blackouts in our near future. Not to mention storms are other natural disasters that can knock out power. We wanted a manual way to grind our grains so we decided to get this mill. Seems to be very solid and well designed. Simple to use but if you're not in half decent shape you may find the grinding a bit tougher than you may think. We tested it on hard white, hard red and kamut. It did a fine job on all three.
We packed it back in the box and will use it when an emergency arises.
The directions stated how to put it together but ours had the grinding wheel already installed which makes us think we may have recieved a used one. Not a good business practice if true.
Highly recommended

Would be nice if they used stronger plastic when grinding it bends a little but still works

Morgan: This unit impressed me a lot , well sturdy and simple . Although it’s a crank and not electric, it is perfect for my polypore mushrooms like turkey tail to grind up into powder, for those who don’t know about mushroom Polypore there hard and a pain to grind into powder . The slot that your chute offers before the burl grinder mechanism does a fair bit willing to let other substances to grind up as well with out getting clogged , if it does get clogged ; it is so simple and easy/quick to unclog . So far I like this purchase . To go camping or any herb 🌿 grinding in mother natures ounce dried. Electric grinder is okay but in some polypores in order not to make it into a fluf cotton candy texture or result , cuz of the heat , manual crank works best and it’s easy and really efficient and effective to powder a wide verity of things

Maureen: I love that it can mill four cups of grains at once at low temperature and it is not messy at all.
I do wish that I didn't have to keep readjusting the clamp because it keep coming loose.
After trying it out for few weeks, I decided to purchase the electric attachment for when I am milling more grains.
It takes me about 22 minutes to manually mill a cup of wheat berries. I am loving it 😍

Juan C.Juan C.: I will write a review based on the function I use it and that is basically to grind whole species (black and white pepper, cumin, caraway, coriander seeds, dill seeds, fennel, etc) I'm a sausage maker and at this, the mill does a great job. The coarseness can be adjusted from fine to coarse, however it is hard to reduce from coarse to fine on the fly because the spice will not allow the auger to be set tighter without emptying it first. Before this mill I burned out two kitchenaid coffee grinders and the spices never grinded evenly. With this mill the spices result in a more consistent size. About the use of this mill for cereals such as wheat, rice, etc, I will guess the output will be too small for the need of many users. At grinding species is ok since species are used at small quantities even in very large batches, but if you need to grind several pounds of flour probably this hand powered mill is not for you and maybe you should take a look at another model of the same vendor with a motor option. I cannot rate durability at least for now but some parts could have been made of more durable material such as a plastic washer between the auger and the handle. Even when it looks...

MelodyMelody: I've been using this grain mill for close to a year now and I'm overall happy with it. I also got my parents one, and they enjoy it as well. HOWEVER, it is clearly advertised that it can mill corn on the box, but it did not work at all for me. It was like grinding rocks, even on the coarsest setting. The handle would not turn and forcing it resulted in pulling the grain mill off the table, clamp and all. If you want it for something softer/smaller like wheat or barley, it works great, but I wouldn't recommend it for corn. It would be 5 stars if not for the fact that the box says it does corn.

The BookieThe Bookie: I'm gonna be honest, I was not expecting much when I purchased this. I was worried and researched endlessly for a grinder that fit our budget AND could grind my wheat berries into usable flour for my sourdough bread. I wanted hand crank because it will never fail unless my arms fail, but I feared my arms would fail if I had to grind for hours to get enough flour for a loaf.
So maybe my previous negative bias is making this grinder seem even better than it is. I mean, I have had ground meat, nuts, and other sundries with the old cast iron grinders in the past. And boy, was that a chore!
So when I set up this new grinder and started grinding rice to prep it for flour, I was bracing myself to hate it. 15 minutes later I had a relatively fine grind of rice that actually amazed me.
When I moved on to my precious wheat berries, I found I could roughly grind 2 cups in about 15 minutes, then tighten the burrs for a fine powder and finish a fine flour in another 20 minutes or so.
The first time I used it I attached it to an antique Hoosier hutch and it did not scratch the wood surface despite all the wobbling. Since then I have found a way to attach it to our...

Dank Koala: I have used this for couple of months now, and have had great quality flour with good consistency. I have also got the smaller version as a gift, and it too works great. I would say the bigger version suits my need better, because the mill disk is removable, so I can clean it better and catch any issues with mill early if they ever happen.
The mill teeth is very high quality. It is obvious the material is cast professionally by engineers who knew what they were doing.
Operation is easy and quick. The hand-mill does work your arm to get decent amount of flour. For an average dude like me, it feels like I am cleaning glass pane when rotating, so it is fairly easy and smooth to make your flour manually. The clamp is really nice. You get 200g flour from about 5 min of milling at average speed.
The flour obviously needs to be sifted, even if you want to get whole-wheat flour, because the wheat bran content has to be lower to allow gluten development, so get yourself a nice fine sifter, and sift the milled flour. (Add back small amount of the bran to create whole-wheat breads).
The flavour of bread is phenomenally better than what you get from any...

Brad: If you're wanting to do bread from wheat berries, this is the best reasonably priced grinder. It grinds to a nice fine flour, and works great. Yes, it takes some work and time to do, but for the cost it's worth a try!
