Derek Hubley: bought this to learn how to play, kit seems to be a great value. though I admit I'm new to this, quality looks great on guitair, no paint flaws or anything like that. kit comes with lessons and a few accesories and amp of course. was nice to see two straps - one for included gig bag and one for guitar, some other kits only have one to share.

Ger PeriGer Peri: — Ignore the incorrect description describing it as a short scale guitar. It’s a full size 25.5” scale length Strat. Impressive glossy shine on an overall beautiful looking sturdy 7.0 lbs. guitar. The brown sunburst pattern looks much more vibrant and appealing in person (see above photo; ignore my added Beatles sticker!) than in the rather bland looking listing photo. Comments about scratches or blemishes on the pick guard are most likely from buyers who haven’t removed the plastic protective layer!
— The tone controls on my guitar work as follows: first one controls only the neck pickup, while the other one controls BOTH the middle and the bridge pickup (which differs from Fender website which says it controls only the middle pickup).
— The guitar sounds great to me on the included amp. One issue: noticeable “static-like” HIGH frequency noise until one touches guitar strings (or other metal parts on guitar), on all 5 pickup selector positions. Positions 2 and 4 reduce the LOW-frequency HUM present in positions 1, 3 & 5, as expected from single coil pickups, but don’t reduce the HIGH frequency static-like noise. Brian L. Raney: When you're thinking of a Squire purchase, it's usually to save money at the expensive of quality. Squire has had the reputation of being the bargain basement guitar company that makes Fender approved clones of their famous electric guitar line. More for a beginner who's thinking of trying their hand at playing but doesn't want to break the bank while butchering Stairway to Heaven.

Well, you'll be happy to hear that this line of Squires', made in China, are some of the best entry level guitars I've ever seen or played. When I opened the box and lifted the Stratocaster in my hands, I was struck by how beautiful and comfortable it was. The finish on the body was perfect in every way! No blemishes, scratches, or smudges of any kind. The neck and fretboard were perfectly aligned and attenuated with the single core pickups. While the nut was still made of plastic and not bone. It was perfectly cut and held the string above the laurel fretboard at the required angles.

The neck had a smooth, pleasant feel, with perfectly mounted frets that had such attention to detail placed on them that you would almost think this guitar came from the Fender custom shop. The fret ends were...

O Cruz: I recently retired and learning to play the electric guitar was on my bucket list. I asked a Friend who is a professional (plays, builds and fixes guitars for some top musicians) to recommend an inexpensive guitar for me to purchase. He said that most new basic guitars are made by computers and are way better than past years and are good. He gave me a couple that he recommended. I did my homework and chose this package since it had everything that would be needed (guitar, cable, amp etc.) for a reasonable price. What I didn't realise is that this purchase also comes with 3 months of free online lessons by Fender! My Friend also asked me to bring it to him when I got it so he can have a look and see if it was good. I did that and he tuned it, polished and made some minor adjustments to lower the string height to make it easier to play. He gave it a thumbs up. I signed up for the free Fender course and in a week finished 20 lessons. These lessons are fantastic for a beginner like me. They start with basics on everything from the parts of the guitar, the amp and then move slowly and methodically on how to play. I have finished 20 lessons and am totally enthralled. Michael MarcusMichael Marcus: Let me clear up the misunderstandings related to this guitar. First, the Pickguards are NOT scratched! They come with a clear film over them when shipped to protect the Pickguard. You need to peel it off. I can clearly see it in the the photos people posted, complaining about scratches! Peel it off! Second, this advertised Short Scale Stratocaster, with the Vibrato, is NOT a Short Scale. It's a Full Size 25 Inch Scale. The ONLY Short Scale model is the Squier Strat Hardtail model. Squier does not make a Short Scale Stratocaster with the Vibrato. This is Amazon's mistake and needs to be fixed. I know guitars. I'm 69 and been playing since age 9. I own like 40 guitars. In addition, my guitar reads "Squier by Fender Stratocaster ®". The Short Scales are identical with the exception that they read "Strat" instead of "Stratocaster". And no Vibrato.
This guitar can represent a great value! It's not perfect. My Squier Bullet Mustang, from Amazon, is a quite a bit better. But the Bullet Stratocaster flaws are relatively small.
