13Blackbirds: My cats hide under the bed anytime this fish turns on. Poor things. One of my cats is anxious and complicated, so I was surprised. But the other one is brave and joyful and the flopping fish sent her into a panic. On the bright side, my mother's golden retriever loves it more than pretty much anything except cookies. And she hasn't destroyed it yet, which says something about the durability.

HumanPerson: It’s a 70% hit. My cat doesn’t seek it out but when it activates, he’ll lazily kick at it or stare it down. The 2nd fish in the pack went a family member’s cats. One cat fled in terror and the other snuggled up to it before attacking it. Part of the issue seems to be the sound and the size of the fish. A toy about 1/2 as large might be more appealing for more timid cats.
Bottom line: it’s worth a try. If your cats don’t like it, wash the outside carefully, and donate it to a local shelter. Sometimes a cat that has a favorite toy gets adopted faster.

lisakay: The product works as described in that you charge it and then it flops about when touched( I had set it close to their food) but my two less than a year old cats were uninterested. First off, it makes a lot of noise when flopping. I always knew that they had touched it because I could hear the mechanics two rooms away. I think a lot of cats would be frightened my the noise. Mine were mildly afraid, and then mildly interested for approximately 5 minutes before ignoring it completely. One kitten did the bunny kick for about 30 seconds in that first five minutes. I know that different cats are different and interested in different things, but usually when they are you g like mine, they are pretty eager to play. That said, my cats tend to be bored by anything other than the wand/fishing pole toy, the drapes, and other household items that can be destroyed, boxes and paper bags. it might work for your cat if they are not afraid of loud noises and you are not startled by suddenly machine noises. Good luck.

Ps: Everything came with the box and looked nice. It is definitely a lot for the price, so that's really nice especially as the wands don't feel quite as sturdy as others. The tops to the wands are really nice and the best part. I had a similar setup, though, and the feathered pieces were made to spin as you "flew" it through the air. :) Fish worked great; my cats just didn't know why I would do such a terrible thing as give them something that only flopped but didn't even run away! As in, some cats will like it, and some cats will think you're broken and not too smart a hunter because where are more of those feather things that are a lot more satisfying. :) So, again, lots of feathers for your buck.

Cynthia: I still gave it 4 stars because if you have a cat or dog who aren't a scaredy cat then they might really love this. It flops really well like an actual fish but scared both of my cats and they just wouldn't go near it. lol
