Regular CustomerRegular Customer: I've tried many sets of watercolors. Pans, tubes, and pens. None of them have pleased me as this set of watercolor pencils has. The first and most important thing to me is the lightfastness. I always do a Fade Test, as you can see in the photo. Two identical grids, with pure color and a wash version of that color. The Control panel stays indoors, completely out of any light. The Fade Test panel I put outside in the direct sunlight for a minimum of five days. This is enough time for UV light to show its effects.
Of the other brands and sets I've tried, only the more expensive pans (Rubens) and tubes (Sennelier) have mostly held up. Pre-filled watercolor pens (Chromatek, Ohuhu) are about useless for any kind of permanent or archival work. They faded within a day.
But these watercolor pencils, WOW! I finished the Fade Test and there is no noticeable difference. It's a much easier medium for me to use as I work in fine detail sometimes, and these sharpen up well. Adding water makes a beautiful, even wash. I can't wait to get started on many of the projects I've had on the back burner.

JMG: I'm new to using coloured pencils as an art medium. I'm at the the stage of trying different pencils to see which is best for me. Looks like I've found what I was looking for.
They are far better than quite a few other brands, therefore I would highly recommend these. Bought a set for my granddaughter, may as well let her use the good stuff.

J’ai testé la palette sur du papier média mixte de moins bonne qualité avec une pression moyenne sur le crayon et le résultat est en photo jointe. J’adore le « earth green yellowish », « dark red » et « dark chrome yellow ». Les couleurs sont riches, les mines sont fermes et vient dans un bel étui en métal. Idéal pour faire les petits détails dans les aquarelles au pinceau ou rajouter des ombres ou de la texture.

Les couleurs sont encore plus vives quand on trempe la mine du crayon directement dans l’eau puis sur papier sec! Plusieurs différentes techniques à essayer, se mélangent bien quand deux couleurs différentes se touchent après avoir ajouté l’eau. Je recommande 5/5*!
