Michael O: This cover is really easy to install and remove. It is not water tight but overall keeps the bed fairly dry even in extended torrential rains. It has improved my gas mileage 1-2 mpg. My reason for getting this was my job requirements changed to wear I’m carrying all my gear every day and needed a way to keep it secure. There are options that are more secure and more weather proof but they are also more permanent and may require drilling your truck or installing bed rails.

A. Bowman : Using a second person to push down the seals on the front corners helps a lot in getting a good seal.

I have had no trouble with leaking at all and we live in the Seattle area with plenty of rain. again make sure those corners are pushed down when tightening, the clamp will NOT pull it down far enough by itself.

Install is relatively easy, not sure why other reviews had so much trouble, again use a second person to push down the corners If you need that super tight seal. Just line it up evenly side to side and front to back. Good to find visual reference points to hit the same spot every time. line up to stake pocket edges and a certain line on the tailgate cover. Do make sure to get the clamps positioned correctly to be parallel to the side rails. This means pulling the clamp back and sliding it closer to or further from the bed rail and then rotating it down into its locked position. If the clamp is too close or too far from it will bind on the bedrail and not allow correct clamping. once you get the idea it is super easy.

Len: Comparing similar products available - this was the cheapest and yet seemingly the most durable. Installation was NOT as easy as some of the reviews mentioned but with some "tweeking" of the primary attachment mechanism near the truck's bulkhead, it worked. My guess is, several buyers installed this cover UNAWARE they had residual "gaposis" at the cover/bed rail interface and thus did nothing to correct the leaking. The trick in completing a successful install is ensuring the perimeter weather strip seats evenly around the truck bed rail. Very little water entry through a good car wash but some does enter as the bed rail isn't completely flat at the full perimeter. This cover is water resistant, but NOT water proof. This is about 50 pounds and the packaging was VERY poor with the cover being delivered in what seemed akin to a battle scared cardboard box. I didn't lower the rating because in spite of the very poor packaging, the cover was fine - a testament to it's durability. I really like the OEM look. You won't need a painted cover if you with this product because it looks so good.
