Client d'Amazon: I stopped reading about half way through, after noticing numerous grammar/syntax mistakes. Checking the sources at the end of the book, it appears that the author documented himself on amateur websites. It also contains historical innacuracies.

LuvLeighAn: All the books I am getting the pages are wavy, why?
I just ordered a bunch of different books from different people. and they are all weather damaged. The pages (both hard back and paperback) are wavy, which happens when the books are in a moist area too long.
And two where left o u t s i d e in the rain, the d r i v e r never told me they where there. And the books where only protracted by a thin paper.
But I do not recall which two books it was.
But all the books the pages are wavy.
The paper the books are made out of are cheap ad will not last long, if they are already deformed - all the books should be new.
I have not yet read any of the books as I have heavy books sitting on top of them all trying to flatten the books

Rose: I really enjoyed Uncovering Norse Mythology: A Guide Into Norse Gods and Goddesses, Viking Warriors and Magical Creatures. It was very well-written and easy to follow. I think even someone who's not a fan of mythology would appreciate the descriptions of the gods and goddesses contained within. While it would be impossible to be comprehensive in a book of this length, the descriptions were more than sufficient for the curious and I've no doubt fans of such modern-day film characters would seriously enjoy Uncovering Norse Mythology. I even found some of the information surprising... for example, the identity of Thor's mother. I especially liked the brief, entertaining stories about the various deities. In addition, the author's choice of photos was spot-on and the pronunciation guide at the end was quite helpful for some of the lesser-known names. Oh, and lest I forget, I also loved this review cited by Lucas Russo on the book's Amazon homepage: "'Another masterpiece by Lucas Russo.' My mom." Five stars to the author...and his mother!

Mau soto: I really enjoyed reading this this book. It is written in a way very easy to comprehend, especially if you’re just starting to learn about Norse Mythology while still not downplaying anything. The magical way it describes every character and every scenario made my love for Norse Mythology greater. Im also starting to get into Norse movies so having this book as a guide was key to understanding all the Gods, Goddesses and Vikings/warriors.

Luis David Aguirre Flores: This seems to be part of Russo's mythology book series, following "uncovering greek mythology" which I thoroughly enjoyed as well as this new one. I knew Norse mythology existed but had no in depth information about it, but this guide opened a whole new world for me. These introduction books are a perfect way to know all the basics to mythology and I'm all here for it.

CJ Ailey: I absolutely love reading about mythology, and I think Norse mythology is having more of a cultural moment these days, given that in the West we mostly encounter Greek, Roman, and Egyptian gods in our schooldays, but not Norse, typically--and then Hollywood came along and started raising our consciousness about the Norse sagas (Maybe Hollywood is the Wagner of the 2000s??). I wasn’t looking for a terribly serious, academic read, so this little book was overall a good fit--interesting, informative, and giving a sound overview of the Norse gods and how they fit into Viking society and mores. I was surprised by how much the author put himself on the page--normally in a book about a nonfiction subject you don’t hear so much “I”. But I kind of liked that, as the author’s deep interest in his subject came through, and I was quite interested in his personal take on the connection he made between mythology and self-improvement. However, one thing I think I should perhaps flag depending onw hat readers are seeking is that the book was quite short. I would say it felt more like a primer--a very suitable introductory text for someone who’s just putting their toe in the water on...
