O: My children love this story book. They love the cartoons and they love this book even more. We have read this book numerous times over many months. The difficulty level of reading this book is going to be dependent on your child's reading level. There are some tricky scientific terms that most adults would find difficult to read, but everything else in the book is probably about moderate difficulty for a 5 year old. The illustrations/artwork is intricate and detailed. There's always something new that my children find in the images on the pages throughout the book. My only wish is that this would be offered as a hardcover as well.

mira payung: My daughter is octonauts obsessed. We started with the tv show and once we realized they we're based on books we had to give them a try. It seems like the books may be more based on whimsical ideas, or fantasy type animals rather than the factual information given out about real animals on the show. But the book is a great story, with all of her favorite characters. We will definitely buy more!

Mrs M: As expected, this is another high quality Meomi book. The story is lovely with touching little moments and exciting episodes too. I like that it sticks to a familiar format: it was a such and such day under a something or other ocean when...a couple of pages where we turn the book to the side, endpapers with pictures of the Octonauts, the back endpaper related to the story. This helps build confidence as young children can predict these things. I also like that they have added in a page border around the page where the Octonauts gather together to discuss the problem depicting their journey to the HQ, it helps keep things fresh while giving us more opportunities to spot our favourite characters. My only quibble is that the theme of the story is a little familiar - helping a creature find a home as in the Great Ghost Reef (or Explore The Great Big Ocean for Tunip's biome), another oversized creature as in The Only Lonely Monster. Not that this will matter to Octonauts fans and, as I've stated above, the story is lovely and is unique in itself.

The addition of another new GUP is exciting (even if the practical part of me wonders where in the Octopod they have room to store...
