Samuel Hill: I have always tried to get into history through YouTube channels like Oversimplified and History Matters but I always found I lost interest, even though the videos were high quality and engaging. However, with this world history atlas, I found reading it to be super fun. I love how I can piece together everything that happens at every moment in time without going into unmanageable depth. I would definitely recommend this atlas to anyone interested in getting a brief overview of world history.

JetJet: Bought 2 copies of the same book from Amazon Warehouse: one for me, one for gifting.
This book is amazing in detail and thoroughness.
DK high level of research and visual representation of information.
5 stars for the book!

Being a Warehouse item, I was expecting some wear.
But this was extreme. Packaging was very poor, with little protection, which significantly damaged one of the books and scraped the other. So 2 stars for shipping...

Unfortunately, will think twice before buying from Amazon Warehouse again, especially similarly big, beautifully produced books.

ChemProf: I like this book. It does many things well. For the price it provides excellent content Nevertheless, I wish it were more complete in certain key areas. In European and other world history, it leaves out cartographic and literary content with respect to some pivotal events which led to the development of the world as we live it today. Likewise, there are key omissions from Latin American, African, and Asian histories which have profound influence on our present world. I will refer to just a few following. On pages 166-7 it has a fine ecclesiastical map Europe near the beginning(1555) of the Christian reformational era, and it discusses on 169 the Thirty Years War ending in 1648, but it omits including a map of the settlements of the Treaty of Westphalia which ended that conflict. A 1648 map to compare to the one of 1555 would be very helpful. It has a decent coverage of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic era, but it fails again to indicate cartographically how the boundaries of the European political units of and the titles of noble lords of the units changed as a result of the wars and their aftermaths.
