CBCB: This book was so much fun to read. The banter between the authors is great and the romp through Scottish heritage, culture, music and of course whiskey makes this book both informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

Robin mclean: From the very first page, I was captivated by the author's vivid descriptions and impeccable attention to detail. Each chapter is dedicated to a different region, allowing readers to embark on a virtual journey through the beautiful and diverse landscapes of Scotland. Whether it was the rugged Highlands, the mystical Isle of Skye, or the charming streets of Edinburgh, the author's eloquent prose transported me to each location, making me feel as if I were there myself.

Pity the maps are so tiny, you almost need a magnifying lens. It would have been nice if a map was as big as a page.

Lucia Malefici: Having read Clanlands, I knew I had to read this one as well. As well as being entertaining, it's very educational, too, and I learned a lot from reading it.

As others have said, the banter between Sam and Graham is priceless. I'm recovering from a long and horrible illness, which has really taken its toll on my mental health, and it's no exaggeration to say that both the Clanlands Almanac and Clanlands have helped me cope in ways I cannot even begin to describe. I shall be forever grateful to these two wonderful, charming loons! I highly recommend that you listen to the audiobook versions, too.

Footnote: I also recommend Sam's book, Waypoints. Another lovely read!

Diane Sultzbach: These 2 men have a strange aura when they are doing any kind of project together. It's a combination of true friendship, which shows through at every moment, thorough knowledge of each others flaws, and a genuine joy when revealing said flaws to the world. Month by month the tell you historical truths aboutthe clans, their peckish personalitiesand the resultant skirmishes and wars that followed. They talk about the beautiful scenery as well as the ancient architecture that are found throughout the Scottish Highlands. All of this is very enlightening and enjoyable to read, but the real gem lies in their wit. I have never picked up this book to read a few chapters without, at some point, breaking out with roars of laughter. As a case in point April has a section on the annual hunting of haggis which is worth the entire book. I loved reading it and will probably reread it at least once when I need a good laugh from 2 very interesting and funny men.
