P. T.: Dá pra encher uma estante com todos os livros sobre esse assunto. Se o seu interesse é a leitura mais que as imagens acho que os mais informativos são os livros de Christiane Desroches Noblecourt e de Nicholas Reeves. Mas se você quiser mesmo um livro pra se deliciar com imagens dos tesouros (e é provavelmente o caso), não tem outro... é esse aqui.
A qualidade de impressão é realmente maravilhosa, assim como as fotos e a diagramação (o livro possui dúzias de "fold outs"). Se comparado ao livro da Taschen sobre o mesmo assunto ele dá de mil: mais barato (ao menos na amazon, por enquanto); maior; mais sistemático (o texto do livro da Taschen é praticamente caótico e tem muito menos sobre o "rei tut" do que aquilo que o título leva a crer)...
Dito isso, tenho duas ressalvas (que no entanto não diminuem a minha recomendação): primeiro, algumas obras importantes não estão aqui... no geral o editor optou por mostrar um número de obras maior e com mais detalhes do que mostrar uma grande quantidade com poucos detalhes (isso acontece num livro, também muito bonito mas com uma qualidade de impressão pouco melhor que péssima, que era vendido nas bancas de...

Sandra P. Ludwin: The pictures were colorful and beautiful. The only complaint I have is the print is very small but please don't let that stop you. Enjoyed reading this interesting book and will read it over and over.

Skates of Wrath: This is an excellent publication of the treasures of Tutankhamen! The photographs are stunning and printed in huge detail- sometimes in multi-page pullouts. Each image is accompanied with a paragraph or two on what the object is and its significance: what a "shabti" is, who the god Ammit was, and how long it took Howard Carter to slowly reveal the several layers of trappings in King Tut's many sarcophagi.
The only thing to keep in mind is that Zahi A. Hawass needs to be taken with a grain of salt. He's generally a reliable source of information, but he's known for embellishment and overlooking certain unflattering stories (like how the mummified fetuses were misplaced and lost for decades, or how the staff at the Grand Egyptian Museum broke the beard off King Tut's burial mask when they mishandled it). Hawass also has a knack for writing in the first person when talking about the Treasures of Tutankhamen, an odd practice for any historian. For instance, he ends the text with, "That Howard Carter sure was a great archaeologist. You know who else is? ME! Did I ever tell you about the time when I found Hatshepsut's tooth? Strap in."

SJC: Stunning photos, and nice writeup. Yes the font size is really small (the only negative I could think of) but overall this book is just an excellent overview of the fables treasures of King Tut. Excellent value too.. Higly recommended

Patricia Rawlings: This is the most gorgeous book I've ever seen on Tutankhamun's tomb.....there are humongous full page photos in glorious color and fold-out pages that show some things practically life-sized. The text by Zahi Hawass is excellent, too....lots of detail and background and interesting observations and thoughts about what we're seeing...fascinating. My golly---GET THIS if you want to see images that make you feel you're at a live exhibit itself..A beauty of a book!

Simon C: I was booked to see the Exhibit in London back in April for my birthday but Corona Virus had other ideas and this was supposedly the last chance to see it before it goes back to Egypt forever. So thought I would treat myself to a book and picked this one due to the great reviews. It is brilliant. A well made heavy book and the quality of the paper and the photos is just awesome. At £20 its a bargain. I like the fact its done in order of discovery. The only negative I would add is that the larger pull out pages are black and shorter than the regular pages by around 5mm. As the larger pages are white you get a line of black where the pages rest when the book is closed. Its not a major issue unless you are the kind of person that wants something 100% pristine. The level of detail in the photos is just jaw dropping and makes you understand how skilled they were even though it was 3,345 years ago!
