Shaina Hernandez: So I've seen a lot of the reviews most good, some bad. I'm going to be very honest. I put 5 stars because it came in very good condition, no issues with shipping and since I pre-ordered this, it came on time. So about 5 stars with that alone.

Some of the 1 star raters had mention Edward being whiney, a woman hater, etc. ((SOME SPOILERS))
1. He hated his life as a vampire, and was the only single in a house with 3 other couples. I would whine too. But that all changes when he meets bella.
2. Yes he wanted to kill Bella because of how good her BLOOD (not body ordor) smelled. His instincts as a vampire were kicking in and he fought hard against his vampire nature.
3. What drew him to her was the fact he couldn't read her mind. He never experienced that before and that made her fascinating to him.
4. Edward does not hate all the woman around him. He loves Esme. He loves Alice (brother sister relationship).
5. Yes Rose was a victim of a horrible crime, he does not take this from her in the book, he doesn't like that fact that Rose could be so petty and vain.
6.Rose gets literally upset because Edward doesn't find her appealing but finds Bella to be and Rose has...

Holly: Midnight Sun – worth the wait, worth every page.
I’m utterly thankful for the hours of reading this one, leading straight to a reread of the series, and the many hours of recognize the familiar characters. Some funny scenes, like when Edward plots out, how to kill Bella with some “collateral damage”, or Emmet playing with food – and yes, surely Edward is kind of suffering, darkish and confused. Very. Often. Definitely confused, hard time figure out, how to deal or not with a situation he had never imagined in his wildest dreams ( if he ever dreamt)
While Bella seems to be almost very naïve, in her attitude or reactions. Which doesn’t make it more easy for Edward. Or some others, like his family. Or her friends. A wonderful, insightful add to the well known series. All in all: I LOVED IT.

Some critics mentioned the “depressed” state of Edward, the kind of “stalking” attitude. Please, lets not forget: according to the books, Edward is a gent from the earthly 19th century. And for the first time of his existence as a vampire he is confronted with a) a person who’s mind he can’t read, b) a human, who’s scent is almost unbearable, irresistible to...

Daniel: What's different:
Midnight Sun is the story of Twilight from Edward's perspective. This leads to an entirely different reading experience, and not just because the author, and likely audience, have aged since the first book.
Edward's perspective is entirely different in style and tone from Bella's. Edward is a 100+ year old vampire who can read minds, and is constantly trying not to kill the humans around him. These facts lead to a character who overthinks everything and has a self-loathing complex that is unrivaled in modern YA literature (and that's saying something). The result is an introspective, wordy book that frequently shifts between timelines, past, present, and potential futures. The entire book (specifically the romance) has a feeling of inevitability about it, though I'm still not sure if this feeling is a result of my prior knowledge, or Meyer's character set-up.

What I liked:
I thoroughly enjoyed the family dynamic of the Cullens. In Midnight Sun we see Edward's brotherly friendship with Emmett, his perfect sync with Alice around their gifts, and Rosalie's cool distance from her brother. We also get to see more of Carlisle in his role as father of...
