al conner: If you shop around for batteries you have seen prices go up significantly during the 'Green Push' by the current administration. This batter works reasonably well. I use it for my night light bc I usually need to get up during the night. So it is with 70 + YO men and the battery is less than $ 5.00 on Amazon. Sites will sell rechargeable but get ready for lots higher prices. These batteries can be recycled--all it takes is a little effort.
