EV Gear Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charger

Bruce: I bought this charger for my Chevy Volt in 1/2023 and it k longer charges the car. Improved this by bringing the car to Chevy and hooked it up to there charger and the car charged. If this was a $50 charger I won’t be upset but paying $299 and it only lasted 9 months that is ridiculous. Wouldn’t recommend.

Jack Cheng: I was looking for a fairly priced cable that I could use to trickle charge (110volts) my Nissan Leaf and that was long enough to reach from the garage outlet to my driveway. EV Gear's product was great, worked perfectly. I loved it so much that when it stopped working after two years, I immediately replaced it with the same product. Then, contacting EV Gear, they honored the three year guarantee and refunded my money for the replacement. It's rare to get such frictionless customer service and I wanted to make sure to call them out and let people know. Reliable product, reliable company. This purchase is a no-brainer.

PagelPagel: We purchased the Level 2 Charger for our 2019 Niro PHEV. This was a great purchase. The cost of a level 2 charger for our car from other sources was double the price of the EV Gear Charger. The charger that came with the car was a level one with a short cable. This 30 foot charging cable is heavy duty and well constructed. The electrician installed the necessary socket as per the instructions. The smart power control circuit is easy to read and comes with chart which we placed near the wall mount. The wall mount holster is a bonus that keeps the EV Gear handle stored away safely when not in use. Initially the handle was slightly difficult to pull out but after a month of use, it is easy to use. This is a great product and would recommend it to anyone with an electric car

Andy: This cable seems to be built very well, as good as the OEM cable that came with my Prius Prime, but longer and more flexible since it support level-1 and level-2 charging.

I may have mis-interpreted, but I thought a 110v 20A circuit with a 110V 20A plug would provide faster charging without having to go to 220v. I had that installed, but this cable doesn't have the 110v 20A plug, it has a 220v 20A plug (the horizontal tine is on the opposite side). Another adapter to 110v 20A would be ideal.

Janne Ofstad: I have a 2013 Leaf and the level 1 charger that came with the car worked fine, but on weekends, we use the leaf 100% of the time, so we found ourselves waiting for the leaf to recharge. I finally broke down and had a 240V socket installed in the garage and then bought this level 2 charger. Wow, I am amazed, my car can recharge in 3 hours (from half full), which gives me the range to do all my errands and haul the kids around. Now I plug in when I get back from a short trip and it actually adds miles, before with my other charger it wasn’t doing anything. The holder for the handle is a great idea, I wish I had one of these for the last 3 years, it gives your handle a spot on the wall and makes grabbing it easy, no more stuff on the floor. I have not used the Level 1 adapter cable, but it may come in handy at some point, great idea. So far I am loving this and kicking myself for not going to level 2 charging earlier.
