Steven: I got the first one to light once. Seemed great but I let the wick burn down to almost nothing and it would never light again. I let it flame for about 10 seconds, blew it out, then watched the wick smoldered away for about 20 seconds. I used lighter fluid as instructed and as the YouTube videos show. Whatever, I must have done something wrong. ’I'll just pull out more wick,' I thought. But here's the problem. There's no extra wick! So for me, the first one was a one-time use item. Maybe I'll have better luck with the other four.
Sure enough if the wick is well saturated, you don't let it burn too long and don't let it smolder after use the wick doesn't disappear immediately.

Compared to a mini Bic lighter this is as unmaintainable, as disposable, more difficult to use and less reliable. On the plus side it's refillable, probably slightly more windproof and water resistance. Bottom line: it's just a novelty gimic, not a useful backpacking/emergency tool.

A. Dreese: Even with a good strike, it takes a few strikes to light. I haven't had them leak (there's a rubber O-ring that the cap closes down on.)
Fun little items, but I wouldn't rely heavily upon them.

Mine came with a screenprinted logo on them, but it came off REALLY easily with some lighter-fluid on a rag (you'll want to do this anyways, because if you spill any fluid on your fingers while filling them, it'll transfer/rub off the imprint with your fingers.)

Emily: These are pretty cool however the wicks are quite fragile so they don't actually last very long. On the 5th light the wick ripped off. Hopefully the rest will last longer

J. J. EppersonJ. J. Epperson: So I was intrigued by this, yes, I saw the add on Facebook. However, I do not feel that this product is up to par.

PROS:
- ATTRACTIVE DESIGN
- SUPERB LONG FLAME

CONS:
- BUILD QUALITY - PLASTIC
- WORKED ONCE, WOULD NOT RE-LIGHT

So I tried one. Filled with fluid. Soaked the metal matchstick. Took a couple tries of striking to light. Burned beautifully. Love long flame that would be superb for pipes and cigars. First use, wanted to see how long it would stay lit. Apparently, this was probably a poor idea as while it stayed lit for a long time. It apparently, consumed the wick so that it would not re-light. Perhaps a metal wick would be better, I do not know.

So I opened up #2, took the metal matchstick from it. And lit it, this time paying attention to not let it consume the wick. As it began to singe the wick, I blew it out.

That's when I noticed the little black box had a flame coming out of it as well. Apparently, my stroke of the flint not only lit the matchstick, but also sent a spark into the reserve container igniting it. To add further concern, being plastic, the unit was already starting to melt....

bobbysargent: I bought 10 of these. The 1st one I took out of the package, the clip latch fell apart. I put it back together and tried to secure it and it fell apart again.
The lighter works great other than the latch. I would rather have them than not have them.
