Pam: I really knew very little about Italian Jews and all they went through when the Nazis took over. This was not only and enjoyable read focused on beautiful relationships but also a much needed history lesson.

Julie Lambert: I knew about some if the events in this book from other novels but it was still a very harrowing read. Highly recommended to those who want to find out more about what happened to the Italian Jews under fascism and then nazism. I loved the characters and how their love for each other prevailed

MPM: I enjoyed this book. I had no idea about the ghetto in Rome and what happened there during world war 11. A book which makes you think about Mussolini and what he did to appease Hitler! A good read!

pkf: I read this book before I took a trip to Rome. I was able to visit the sites that were mentioned in the book. I did not know much about Mussolini and the jewish ghetto in the 30's-40's. Listen to the podcasts (12) that Lisa Scottoline does concerning this book. The best book that Scottoline has written. The characters and the story were intriguing and kept your attention until the end.

Susan Roberts: Elisabetta, Marco, and Sandro grew up as best friends in Rome. Eternal is about their lives from 1937 - 1957. It's a novel about loyalty and loss, family and food, love and war. -Elisabetta dreams of becoming a novelist. Her home life is difficult - her mother left when she was young and her father is an alcoholic. She tries to take care of her father but it becomes more difficult over time..
-Sandro is Jewish and is moved into the ghetto with his family. He loves school and wants to be a mathematician but as the new laws become harsher for the Jewish citizens, he sees his dream begin to fade.
-Marco is the daredevil of the group. He goal in life was to become a professional cyclist which is greatly encouraged by his family. Marco becomes part of the Fascist group in Rome and works at their headquarters.
As the Nazis start their rule of Rome, all three of them...
