Odette McNaughtonOdette McNaughton: We ordered this item in the fall of 2022 because the design and size was what we were looking for. It was shipped in a number of boxes, six to be exact. When they started to arrive on different, numerous days we were nervous and contacted the seller. They responded and assured us that we would get all boxes and all parts but due to size they were shipped accordingly. All boxes did arrive over a period of a couple weeks. It was packed extremely well and suffered no damage. A big thumbs up on the shipping and the fact that they responded right away. I was not able to assemble until May 2023. I familiarized myself with the instruction, no words but a well illustrated book on the assembly process. They suggest three people to assemble this but I was faced with working alone and was able to handle it. The extra set of hands would have been welcome but I made it work. This item is very well engineered and it assembled easily and quickly. everything lined up, no reaming of holes, no stripping of bolts and all sized pieces seemed to be right on the money. Kenny Green: Definitely need help assembling. It is tall and putting the uprights together can be precarious by yourself. I did put a ladder in the middle and supported the middle section on a board with bungie cords while I attached the rafters. I'm not sure if it would have been comfortable having someone hold this while you go around bolting these on. Assembling the very top was difficult. They hold in with tension until you get the edge piece in. While getting one in another would come loose and slide out to the ground. I recommend getting some spring clamps and holding all this in until you put the edge piece in.

Anchoring to the ground is important. You will need a hammer drill and a good masonry bit. You will need to drill the hole for the anchor at least 1/2 inch deeper than the anchor. Once anchored to the ground with all bolts it is good. We have had 60 mph winds in storms and no damage. Ice storms, ping ball sized hail, it is fine.

I was only able to use one of the hooks because the hole was not properly tapped. I was not happy with this.

NonniNonni: We live in North Fort Myers, Florida - check that on a map. We recently took a hit from Hurricane Ian (9/28/2022) Simply put - there was/is massive damage where we live. Reading reviews prior to deciding which gazebo to purchase there were many questions about the wind rating on this gazebo. 16 X 20 took us a lot of blood sweat and tears to get it assembled. (No 5 hours and done here) but it held up thru the storm! So, if you can't decide which gazebo to buy here's your decision maker. It's only been completed not even 2 months. But it's still standing after a category 4 - but note they said it was 1 MPH from being a cat 5!! It's still there - standing tall and proud. We highly recommend this one! Thank you!!
We do recommend prior to any known storm to take down your screens, curtains, fans etc....

Amazon Customer: I purchased 2 of the 12 x 16 gazebo's. I was forced to go this route due to local building permits no allowing me to build what I really wanted. These did not require permits. These have a rain gutter all the way around them and I have build them next to each other so we now have 24 x 16 under cover. Before ordering I read many of the reviews. Some bad and many good. The directions state 3 people to build. I pretty much did everything by myself. My wife helped me put the frame together in about 15 minutes and I finished the rest on my own. I did need her to help me tighten 8 roof panel bolts that my arms could not reach on both sides of the panel. I did have a little damage from the shipping but nothing major. A few minutes to straighten the items and all was good. I found building these were much easier then some of the kids toys I built years ago. The directions are good and the pictures are accurate. All the screw holes lined up and I had no issues on either gazebo. I now think I am going to raise these up 2 feet in height. They look great and I am happy with them. Don Coalts: This is a nice Gazebo and a nice addition to our backyard. We have had a couple of "portable" type gazebos in the yard over the years. We decided this year to put a more substantial unit in the yard and chose this Gazebo. It was a great choice.
We really like the materials; solid and great color. The unit came in six boxes and all components were safely wrapped and labeled inside the boxes. Some problems with weight per box but with two people - it is workable.
With Three people we were able to build the "picture frame" of the unit and from that point forward, two people worked on the setup (off and on) for about a week and then it was complete.
Now the cons...the directions are terrible- there is no Language on the sheets other than the names and numbers of the parts. the pictures and the exploded views within the booklet are well intended but not well done. We found several of the pictures were apparently out of order on a couple of pages and had to undo and redo in proper sequence.
PROS- Very Glad we bought this unit. It is well built and given all the components, everything fit together pretty well right out of the box. The designer even thought of some hardware...
