Heathen: I bought this item so that I can teach myself how to play guitar and it is a great starter package. With easy to grasp directions and set up. So yes I am very pleased with everything from the guitar itself to the delivery to the appearance itself thank you.

Mike: I am an adult beginner, with zero experience with guitars. I purchased a Donner Strat-style about a month ago and have fully replaced it with this player pack. The finish on this guitar is far superior in everyway over the Donner. The frets are cleanly rounded, it took little to no adjustment out of the box to start playing. It holds a tune very well and sounds amazing. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and sound of the amp also. The jig bag is ok, could be better. I also received color matching picks and digital tuner. I would defiantly recommend this kit to anyone just starting out or in need of good kit.

David Griffin: I purchased the player pack in black.
It's been decades since I've played but it's something I've wanted to do again for some time. I've been retired for a year and a half.
I did a lot of research, viewed many many reviews and found the negative ones to be staged and kind of like false positives. One guy gives a Strat high marks but it needs a $100.00 worth of work on the neck and ranks the LP 2 ok. Another guy opens the box and immediately notices a lose tuner on the LP 2. BS! Most reviews are good and those are the one's you need to focus on.
My Player Pack was received in perfect condition and plays great. All I had to do was read the enclosed booklet, download some free player info and tune. Looks and plays great. I have not changed the strings and my fingers are toughening up. The strap. tuner, and amp work just fine.
Paid $219.00 complete thru Amazon and it took one week. Couldn't be happier

Reg: L'ampli ne rend pas hommage à la guitare... Avoir su, j'aurai seulement acheté la guitare et non le kit au complet.

JohndoeJohndoe: I was super excited to receive my guitar this morning. Was nicely packaged and everything looked good, that is until I noticed the front pickup being crooked. Turns out the tin piece that the adjustment screw goes through had no threads so you can push the screw right through that poorly made tin. When to a music store and they installed a larger screw. Also the jack on the guitar doesnt fit tightly with the cable, it doesnt unplug completely, but it sometimes produces noises when you move.

I get that this is not a 2000$ guitar, but this is pretty bad quality control. Otherwise it works as advertised. Amp is not amazing but decent for the price and size.

I wanted to contact amazon for support but the only option available was to return it. Considering the hassle to repacking and shipping the whole kit back (and not being sure the next one would be any better).

I think it's a great kit, but I highly recommend buying in a store instead of online, that way you can make sure quality control did their jobs properly. I think they could have improved components to a minimum quality even if it meant selling it 50$ more. They cheeped more than they probably should have...

Dmitri: The guitar itself was pretty good, considering the low price. It was already set up and ready to play, and sounds good. The only problem I had with it was a slightly high spot on the 6th fret that caused a light buzz when D is played on the A string.

The amp is good enough for practice, but you'd probably want to pick up something better even for that. It sounds okay clean, but the overdrive isn't much use. The strap is nothing fancy, but it works well. The chromatic tuner works pretty well, but the battery contacts aren't very good -- it took some fiddling to get it to work and it still needs a tap or two to get it going sometimes when the display starts to flicker. The gig bag is a tight fit, and not padded; it doesn't offer much protection for the guitar, but at least it gives you a handle and a shoulder strap. The free online lessons are not worth bothering with. They don't cover much, and seem to be just intended to promote the paid lessons.

Basically, the accessories are good enough to get started, but not much better. The guitar itself is good, for the money, but it's worth considering buying the guitar separately and choosing your own accessories.

AP: Great beginner guitar!

If you're a beginner like I am, I'd recommend this guitar if you're looking for something affordable. Great build quality, it's heavier than I thought it would be. The pickups are nice and responsive - you'll want to replace the machine heads and strings if you're looking for longevity.

I'm only giving this package 4 stars because the rest of the stuff is mediocre. The picks are decent, the guitar bag is cheap and the amp leaves something to be desired. If you're looking for a decent rock tone, you're going to at least want an amp with some basic effects. The amp included in the package has a decent clean tone, but everything else is pretty crappy. The dirty tone is tinny and thin, and the bass and treble knobs don't help much.

If this is your first guitar, I'd suggest buying the guitar by itself and picking up a better amp. You should shop around for something with basic effects - reverb, delay, overdrive, etc. I used this amp for two weeks and quickly got tired of the cheap sounding tone and lack of effects.

Great guitar if you buy it by itself and get a decent practice amp. As a beginner you should start with something...

DJ Dana: I've been playing acoustic guitar for over 17 years. I had a cheap Fender Squier electric in my early 20s that never stayed in tune and sounded pretty terrible even in the few occasions it was tuned- so it turned me off to electric guitar for years. I recently decided to once again try to expand my guitar horizons, and being a fan of most of Epiphones acoustics I've played, I decided to take a shot at this Les Paul Player pack to get back into electric. Am I glad I did. I don't ever want to put this thing down. My wife has to beg me to do housework and my kids have to beg me to play with them, because all I've done is play this thing non stop in my free time. It stays in tune, sounds really great, and the humbucker pickups really reduce the humming you typically hear in guitars in this price range.

The amplifier is small, but perfect for practicing- also has a headphone jack so you can plug in and not bother anyone. Has a distortion button, so you can rock out as well.

The tuner is pretty nifty- Just make sure you set it to "G" (for guitar) when tuning- the different little letters on the bottom of the tuner are for different instruments NOT different keys (i.e....

David: Just received my Epiphone Player Pack (ebony) and am very very pleased **for the price and purpose**.
Great little setup for new learners or for getting back into guitar - I haven't played for 30 years and am very excited and happy with the product.
Decent little amp with a few basic, novice-oriented features
-Includes an Over Drive effect (the tone is not great, but good for learning).
-3.5mm headphone jack, suitable for Computer earphones or earbuds - sport earbuds especially a good idea.
-A disappointment is that the bass pot on the guitar is noisy - crackles when adjusted
Otherwise and overall, a nice investment for a Learner.

Almost forgot to mention an important point: the action is pretty decently set up, right out of the box, AND the hardware leaves plenty of room for adjustment if you want. The strings & fretting are not at all difficult, like they are on some new Guitars that need a pro setup.

Mergatroid: Received in about a week. The guitar is OK, although I thought the action would be a little lower, but it's nice to play. The amplifier is pretty cheap. It sounds pretty good clean, but when you press the button for overdrive it starts sounding static-y even when not playing anything. It makes the volume control on the guitar sound dirty and scratchy when you move it. I know it's the amp causing this because we have multiple guitars and multiple amplifiers and were able to narrow the fault to the amp. If it wasn't for that I would have been thinking the volume control POT on the guitar was bad, but it's definitely the amp, and only when overdrive is turned on. When not playing, and the amp is first turned on, it sounds clean, but just sitting there you can hear the static sound getting louder and louder. Also, the plastic plate that covers the jack on the guitar was not screwed in all the way, but that was easily rectified.
Note, this guitar is made in China. I may not have bought it if I had known that ahead of time.
The picks provided are also too stiff and I likely won't use them at all.

Edit

The sound of this guitar is great. It really sounds like a Les...
