Doug Middleton: Easy to install. Be sure to flush it well, it made my icemaker solenoid valve leak for a couple of days then worked normally.

Amazon Customer: We installed this in the 1/4" line that went directly to the ice maker rather than in the main water line from the wall valve. We discovered (after much head scratching) that we couldn't flush the filter before finishing the install because there is a switch(?) that wouldn't let the water flow until the entire water line system is completely hooked up. (And at that we had to wait for the ice maker to cycle to the "fill" part of its cycle.) To flush the filter (which it turned out didn't really need to be flushed as no black charcoal was flushed out) we attached it to the main water line from the wall, flushed it, reattached the water line, reassembled the filter in the white plastic 1/4" line, waited for the "fill" and Voila! we have great tasting ice. Replacement will be much easier.
