Engdenton Faucet-Mounted Water Filtration System

Aje_s: I have used a Brita faucet water filter for a couple of decades...I have probably purchased at last 4 or 5 of them as they will eventually break after several years - usually due to some part of the plastic frame breaking/flexing enough to leak water. I decided to try Engdenton's faucet water filter and I installed it about a month ago. I have been very happy with it - the frame is made out of metal and it is quite solid - I can't imagine this one breaking easily and lasting longer than the Brita. The only unknown I have to-date is that there is no filter change indicator. Instructions just state that you should change it out when you notice a reduction in the filtered water flow. I will see how many months the filter lasts but I am very happy so far with this product!

Mommy D: I recently had to move from a home in the country (on a well) into an apartment in town and I'd long known the water in town smelled like bleach and tasted awful. My landlord warned me I'd need a 'filtration system' and described the array she'd installed at her own home at high cost. I wasn't sure about this on-faucet filter but I did my research and sought a quick fix to maybe 'get by with' until I could afford 'better.' One topic I researched was water pressure (because our well had had low pressure, my secondary focus beyond taste was water pressure). I really expected any on-faucet filter to slow the flow to a dribble. I prepared myself for the worst. I also couldn't understand how I would switch the filter from filtered to non-filtered water to do dishes and such (and save the life of my filter cartridge), it wasn't made clear in information I read online about any filters. The video in this brand showed me, and that sold me on this model.

I originally looked into this filter because what caught my eye was 'high water flow.'

Victor Ehrlich: There are ten SS water faucet filter systems on the Amazon website currently. After a mistaken purchase of one of them, I had no choice but make a systematic study if I wanted to avoid another mistake. After reading the reviews of all, I concluded that there are three basic types of structures: 1) The best design is one where the two parts of the shell are joined by use of an O-ring, and the shell can be separated from the valve assembly by means of a side tube with a flexible joint. A hint for the existence of the O-ring is a flange/lip on one of the shell parts. Three brands feature this design. This is my favorite as I’ll explain later. 2) The next design also features a side tube with a flexible joint but does not offer an O-ring. Instead, it has a cylindrical-shape shell with a very smooth joint connecting the two halves. There are only two brands on the website. 3) The third design is also a smooth shell with no O-ring, and the shell connects to the valve assembly by means of a solid side tube. This is my least-favored design. There are six brands listed on Amazon.
