JTC: There are cheaper rechargeables, but there's a reason for that. These are the only ones that have withstood the test of time--they all still recharge to full capacity, quickly. With the off brands, we toss at least a quarter of them with a year of purchase.

We got off to a frustrating start with rechargeable batteries, but finally learned: if you are going the rechargeable battery route, then unfortunately for your wallet, you have to go all in. You need enough of them to satisfy all your standing battery needs, and then a 10-25% overrun that are ready to charge quickly. THEN, and only then, were we able to satisfy our battery needs with rechargeables.

Daniel Watkins: I know this is Energizer NiMH AAA rechargeable batteries but I also bought AA batteries (2300maH) of the same brand.

The AAA batteries I have had for 2.5 years and I use them lightly, I charge them up on average maybe once a month. Used in LED flashlights, calculators. They are all still working fine today. They can keep my TI graphing calculator working for a few months before needing a recharge. The self-discharge rate is perfectly acceptable.

The Energizer AA batteries, I've had them for about 3 years and I use them exclusively for my Flip Video camcorder which takes 2 AA batteries. They used to be able to take almost 3 hours of video per pair of batteries, very impressive. I used it quite a lot, recording all my class lectures and recording all interesting things to me, hobbies, and in this past year I have been using it a ton, because I now use the camcorder as a dash cam too, so the batteries probably average a near full discharge/recharge about 3-4 times a week and a few light charges in between when I just feel like topping off. This is the average with me having 4 batteries, two pairs for my camcorder. Each battery sees that charging frequency.
So now the...

Gabriella: These batteries are a must have for everyone. They are not expensive and a real money saver. You charge them, they die and you charge them again. Only bad thing is they take several hours to re charge. They come in a bunch of sizes which is very convenient.

I love these batteries. My cameras eat batteries like crazy. Normal batteries lasted me at most two days or so. With these batteries I can take pictures for days. I take a lot of pictures. As soon as these batteries die out I just charge them (4-5) hours and they are good as new. Saves me tons of money. I bought several more packs of these and in different sizes too.

Also if you have children and all their electronic toys and swings etc these really save you money.
