John in Alaska: I am pleased with the meter and how simple it is to use. The meter gives consistent readings and it was a huge wake up call as to how much EMF we were generating and absorbing in our home. We were not surprised how much RF the Wi-Fi router emits, but it was the microwave, the cordless phones and the lap tops that really shocked us. We replaced the cordless phone with a wired phone, installed CAT 6 wires for the lap tops and switched off the Wi-Fi. We reduced the use of our microwave significantly and turn the cells off when not in use. Several friends and family members have requested that I bring the meter to their houses and help identify problem spots. They have all been very surprised at the crazy high amounts of RF that they have in their homes. One big shocker at my daughters house was her son's Xbox. For the last 2 years it has been running 24/7 in his room. I don't know if there is any correlation to his exposure, but about a year ago she noticed that he started having trouble sleeping and concentrating at school and he seems to get more agitated over little things. I think purchasing the Acoustimeter has been one of the best investments I have made in years since it...

Jeremy: I didn't want to spend too much time with a detailed review on this but after seeing the bogus negative reviews on here, I had to chip in.
First off this is about as good as it gets as far as detecting just about every conceivable wireless device that is commonly around us these days. If there is one negative I can find about this meter is that it doesn't pick up really fast spikes from devices such as smart meters very well. You can clearly hear every spike but it will only register 25-50% of the time on the display readout. This is not a big deal though unless you want really scientific data on every spike. You will still get a good idea of what average power the Smart Gas/Water/Electric Meter puts out.
What this does better than most any other meter is that it's very sensitive and covers a much larger Microwave frequency range than most others. Some meters are better for Smart Meters but only cover up to 3 Ghz frequency. So they will not detect the 5.8 Ghz phones or Routers that are increasing in popularity. The LED lights also make using this device so simple and if you want more technical info, the display will give you near exact measurements of what it's...

JOHN H WEBB: After doing a reasonable amount of reading and research on the subject of EMFs and their medical affect upon the body, I emailed one of the internet authors, a Canadian Engineer, and asked him which EMF meter that he personally recommended to evaluate my home and other environments for EMF exposure. His answer was the Acoustimeter. I ordered one and immediately realized that I had to buy a wired router for my home network and turn off the wireless router except when we needed it for specific tasks. We have taken a number of other defensive measures to protect our health from the bath of EMFs in the home. While it may be a psychological response, I think that we have slept much better since turning off the WiFi in the home each evening before going to bed and the Acoustimeter confirms that there are absolutely no EMF Radio Frequencies present in the bedroom now. And we have severely limited the use of the Microwave oven. You can't fathom the amount of EMF transmitted by your microwave! The Acoustimeter Amazon vendor was very helpful and shipped the meter with additional labeling that can be attached to the meter face to convert the left side readings from Volts/meter (V/m) to...

Tamara Baxman: I wish It didn't max out so fast. You can't really tell just how powerful the signal is because it maxes out. Cool sound and gets the point across though. Fun to use anyway but too expensive for what you get. I would have returned it but I got covid and by the time I came to my time for returning it ran out. Bummer!
