DML: Love it and does indeed change with the time but also if the clock gets plugged out or other and to reset it is a pain and after so many years having it how can one remember the instructions I love it though and the radio is great 👍 I have to come back to my purchase 2014 to find it an YouTube instructions

Pannyrin: I've been using this product for a couple of years now and it's held up well. It does everything I need it to do and I can't say I don't appreciate features like automatic adjustments for DST. So far I haven't experienced any problems that I've had with previous alarm clocks like not going off or losing time data or the alarm not waking me up (it's annoying, but that's precisely why I've never been able to sleep through it).

If you want a solid, functional clock that will last you a while, this is for you.

C J: It works great and set itself to the correct time immediately. My only comment would be that it's not very bright and is quite difficult to see in bright daylight, which is admittedly not its intended function but still, it's nice to be able to quickly glance in the middle of the afternoon and see the time if you happen to be in the bedroom. Everything else about it is great.

Amaxon Customer: Despite other reviews, I saw this as a value buy- to keep time, sound the morning alarm. This does it, and is the most compact radio I could find for my small end-table. You could use it for a guest room, for a budget price. It is not to replace a music system or provide soothing sounds that puts you to sleep.
The radio is good for local stations; if it could pull in distant stations, like BBC Canada, I would give it more stars.
SIX MONTHS LATER...
I should have realized these reviews paint a picture of confusion over features, troubles encountered, and manufacturing differences. Mine worked for less than six months, but now pressing the buttons might display the date, cannot even set the alarm, it will not keep time, nor will the alarm sound. I have never dropped the unit or spilled liquid on it- but the electronics can't reliably keep time- the only thing it could do right. Emerson's Chinese plants must be using non-spec components. I want nothing to do with any more Emerson products, or their vendors.

F. RODRIGUEZ: This is the best alarm clock/radio I have had. It has 3 programs for days, 7 days, weekdays, and weekends. It sets the time automatically. It changes to DST and regular time automatically. The display is the perfect brightness. The controls are simple and easy to use. The radio sounds great and the volume of the alarm is adjustable. It is low profile and unobtrusive. It comes with a ni/cd backup battery. I paid $12! I've had mine for two years and it works very well. I just bought another one for my wife, she loves it.

Margaret Palmer: I haven't actually used the clock radio, as I bought it as a Christmas gift for my son. But as someone who has owned the same Emerson smart set clock radio for 13 years, I have never had a problem with it! Great product, even better PRODUCT IF YOU LIVE in an area that gets a lot of power outages.

Robert W. McEwan: Phtoshopped Picture:
The LEDS are thin and dim. The Product Pictures have been doctored. Search you tube for "Emerson Smartset Clock" and see what the product s LEDs actually looks like.

No Dimmer:
There are 13 controls and none of them are a dimmer. No dimmer is mentioned in the user manual. If you like bright LEDs like on the doctored picture, this clock is not for you.

FactorySet and NOT SmartSet:
There is nothing smart about this clock unless tricking consumers is smart. The clock is set at the factory and the time is kept with a lithium battery. How does it know your time zone. I doesn't. You set the time zone when you get the clock. Automatic daylight savings adjustment may make this a Smart clock, but you won't find any buttons or mention in the user manual.

Don't waste your money.

SarahBaby: I had absolutely zero luck finding a shower radio that was any good, so I went with this little alarm clock radio and it is perfect! Decent sound and volume, doesn't take up much space, good reception, and the price is right. I think you'll be happy with this purchase, and as usual amazon's service was great - fast delivery :-)

Peter Tenenbaum: In principle all the features are pretty nice, but in practice they're hard to use. It's the usual thing where the manufacturer wants to control a lot of features with very few buttons, so you wind up using a button for several things (or a combination of buttons held down at once). Also, while the time zone feature is nice in theory, in practice the clock settings for the time zones are wrong when it comes from the factory, so you need to set it to the wrong time zone anyway. So far it works fine, keeps time and wakes me up when it's supposed to (and lets me sleep when it's supposed to), so I can't complain too much.

Jennie Alexander: My husband and I stayed in a Bed and Breakfast recently that featured this alarm clock in our room. During our stay, a storm blew through and the electricity went out. We were amazed at this clock. As the power returned, this smart clock "KNEW" what time it was. Immediately upon returning home, I searched Amazon for this product. When I read the reviews, there were comments about the difficulty of setting this clock up for initial operation. We had NO PROBLEMS setting this clock up for initial operation and are so very happy with this clock. We live in a small town and experience more than our share of power failures. But we can depend on this clock to consistently "remember" its settings. This is one smart clock.
