I gave it as a gift for Christmas and they are using it to warm food since they don't have a microwave, as well as some cooking with it. Cleans easily and the outside of the unit does stay quite cool. I wonder if a square /rectangular unit would hold more than the round shape, but it seems good. Takes space for sure but likely to be of value to them.

I love it. I mean, I loved it. Used it 4-5 times a week. Then one night, I turned it on, it made a popping sound, and stopped working. The coil isn't heating. Contacted both seller and manufacturer. Manufacturer wants me to pay for shipping to return it. Seller says return it, but Amazon says return window is closed. Not happy.
UPDATE: seller is replacing my fryer and giving me prepaid postage return for the defective unit. Yay!
