LOVE my air fryer. A healthier alternative to deep frying or frying. Comes with a great recipe book, but there's also so many recipes online to try! You barely need to use any oil, if at all! It's also a great family size, for roughly 2-4 people depending what you're cooking. :)
Only issue I would note is that you'll have to clean the inside of the fryer itself once in a while. The heating coils at the top get oily as well.

smshinagawa: After reading multiple reviews, decided to purchase an air fryer with the highest capacity (5.5 Qt) and largest basket while still at a reasonable price. I believe $78.33 ($80.21 Prime price - $1.88 instant coupon savings) is a super reasonable price for this 4.5-star-reviewed item. Even though I intentionally purchased a larger air fryer, I admit to being surprised when I saw how big the box was upon delivery (2 days to San Diego). I immediately washed the "drawer pan" and easily detachable "frying basket" (see more on this, below) and made my first attempt at air-frying (my brother's girlfriend's) homemade lumpia, which were frozen. After experimenting with both temperature and time, we figured out that 1 layer of lumpia cooked best at 375 degrees x 15 minutes. [The frozen homemade lumpia I used were ~1" x 5" in dimension for the regular lumpia and ~2-2.5" x 4-5" for lumpia-filling stuffed in jalapeno peppers. I could easily fit 8 regular lumpia + 4 jalapeno lumpia in a single layer.] We put on a separate timer on @ 8 minutes so that we could turn the lumpia over about half-way. I easily pulled the drawer pan out, which automatically stops the timer, to turn...

Geetar DonGeetar Don:
The "air fryer" has taken America's kitchens by storm. Everybody wants one. Most everybody is coming t have one. There are a myriad makers and sellers.
Frankly the facts above for a while put me off the idea of owning one. My kitchen space is valuable. Another once seemingly Great Idea sitting in a cabinet unused was not what I wanted at all. But as I read owners' positive and enthusiastic comments -- and this about seemingly all makes and models -- I thought that owning one seemed a good idea, and I picked up a low priced, unknown brand, one locally. And to my amazement it quickly became a much used kitchen appliance.
That early one I purchased, though, was small, and, alas, did not prove durable. So I returned it and started looking here on Amazon for what to me would hopefully be the ideal replacement.
What did I need and want?
1) Size. I wished to be able to cook enough food for my small family and perhaps some friends. And more, I'd learned that air fryers cooked some foods (such as french fries) better when the basket is only partially loaded. So even when cooking just one or two servings a bigger machine would likely do...

60Chevy60Chevy: This review is for the 1.1 Qt model. I choose this one for my Dad who is 92 years old. Key features for this situation are: simple to operate with just two knobs, and safe to operate with a very shallow bucket. He’s not making piles of chicken wings. We did toast with meat and cheese, and grilled salmon. Both cooked perfectly. The cook time is set with a stiff spring-loaded mechanical timer; it ticks as it times down and dings when finished, like a toaster oven. The marking on the knob is nearly impossible to read, even for me, just a small round indentation, the lettering rubs off easily. I will need to add a big bright line on the knob so he can see it. And after just one day the knob has come loose, it just spins on the shaft, I can’t set the time, the unit is inoperable now. So I am trying to super-glue that as I am writing thus review. If super-glue does not hold it, I will get some epoxy. Not how I planned to spend my precious time during a weekend at home. This is a thirty-five dollar AirFryer. Update: the super-glue cured overnight, the timer knob is solid for the moment, and it's back in action. We added thin strips of orange duct tape to...
