Supermom : Although this isn't as big as the old ones we grew up with as kids, it is pretty close! We hung this up and immediately noticed a difference. We have had to clean it several times this summer because it is plugged up with dead bugs. Lots of mosquitoes and some moths too. We are pleased with the quality as well.

john fleming: This is a very good top online brand .....down the road if the light bulb burns out you can buy it at any hardware or Home Improvement Center..... works very well can be a little noisy but if you can put it a little bit excluded from the neighbors it works very well for both of you..... you can sit outside and have no problem with mosquitoes and black flies..... in the morning local birds will come and eat anything that was dropped out of the bug zapper overnight......

Trikev1: These were a great purchase and have dramatically reduced the mosquito and moth population around our property. We had a lot of gypsy caterpillars (tens of thousands) this spring and bought these lights to help eliminate the moths and reduce the eggs they might lay for next spring. They've been working non-stop for the last month and a half and have worked great. Our only problem is one has a burned out UV bulb already. We're waiting for customer service to respond to our request for warranty replacement. I suspect they'll take care of it and we'll be back in business. Next year we'll put them out earlier in the season and hope to have even better results.

immarkhe: I am in a fairly rural and wooded area. Luckily mosquitos are not a big problem. Moths however are abundant and like to fly up under our covered deck and then fall to the ground and die. I literally have 100 or so dead moths every morning. Not anymore. Luckily moths love UV light and this Flotron zapper does a superb job. I recently bought a Stinger as well as a Black Flag zapper and while reducing the moth population both were jammed up with half dead bugs every morning. Flotron zaps them into vapor, no clogs. If you don't like the sound of bugs frying buy something else because this thing is the bees knees. Pun intended

Amazon Customer: Flowtron makes great products. That's why I chose this item & it has lived up to it's great company's name.
I just plugged it in & it's worked flawlessly for a couple months now in the peak of a Texas summer/mosquito season.
Packed well. Arrived on time.
A personal note: This does make the "buzz" or "zap" sound when the bugs fly into it but it's quick & humane for them.There is another product being advertised heavily that emphasizes that it's noiseless. What they don't emphasize is that it traps the insects & leaves them trapped to die of hunger & thirst. I understand mosquitos carry disease & we need to protect ourselves but I think we need to be as humane as possible about it.

Amazon Customer: This is pretty much an old school bug zapper, but very effective. I'm surprised it works so well. We use plenty of outdoor yard sprays and those work for a short time, so we tried this and it really was killing bugs. We have biting gnats and plenty of mosquitos. We still use bug spray of course. West Nile mosquitos have been found in our area, so we take all precautions. We were still getting bites though. Now we aren't. Plus it gives off a nice glow. The dogs didn't care for the zapping noise at first, but they became accustomed to it.
