N. Williams: I doubt there's any coffee grinder that works without making some amount of mess (dusting of coffee grounds on the work surface). While I thought the inner removable cup might help with that, I'm not sure it does. What I do like about the removable cup, however, is that it makes it a little easier to get the grounds out. And the grinder works well.

gurbax: excellent looks, high speed, low noise but products come out of the casing in the inner portion of cap which needs to be cleaned thoroughly, but i am satisfied with performance.

Truffle Shuffle: Bob's review is insightful. Indeed the removable cup feature shouldn't be overlooked, glad it's included with my new grinder, it's aMakes the grouchy morning easier and helps not to make a mess first thing when you wake up. Other than that looks good, quiet, does the job well. No disappointments.

All that's left to see is it's durability in the long run, not too worried though the design and build seems rather sturdy. The only thing I'm concerned about is that the cup is plastic, one bad drop and it'll probably crack, and as we all know, without the cup the grinder is useless. I wish they'd produce the cup with stainless steel as the body is. It would look better too in my opinion and blend with the great body design, besides the obvious that it will be unbreakable.

FT: For anybody looking for grinding spices, YES, this is the right product. I searched a lot and the only thing I found was Cuisinart product which burned up on me. All products/reviews focus on coffee grinding with one or two words about spuce grinding, so I had trouble finding something.

So I bought this as a spice grinder and it does the job well. It is small but good enough for my spice needs.

Marilyn Riopel: Awkward to handle. When grinding you have to hold it upside down and it leaks.

El OutsiderEl Outsider: Disclaimer: I don't drink coffee!
And that's precisely the problem. If I keep ground coffee around for guests, it gets pretty old, stale, and flavorless. So, I figured I should keep whole beans to help lock in the flavor for guests, and I bought a Nuvita Manual Coffee Grinder since I read that burr grinders are the way to go.

Except, they most certainly aren't if they're manual - that is a lot to ask guests to do if they're going to make their own coffee!
Doing research, it seemed that most inexpensive electric burr grinders don't actually have a very consistent grind size, often break, are rather large for my counter when I personally would basically never be using it, and worst of all - are SUPER loud, which isn't great if guests (or I) am still asleep. So, I decided to just get a cheaper blade grinder.

This blade grinder is remarkably quiet. It reminds me of those super smooth old Cuisinart blender motors that just purr. It is fast, simple, and easy to clean. I like that you can remove the inner container and blade to empty the grinds and wash out. It looks sharp, and seems of high quality. Being from Pittsburgh, I like that this is made by Westinghouse - a...

Bob HBob H: So the first thing you want to know is, "Why am I comparing these two coffee grinders?" Well, they are 2 of only a few units I found where the blender cup is removable and are about the same price. First thing I will say is that I will never again buy a coffee grinder that doesn't have a removable blender cup. It makes life SO much easier, and less likely to spill grinds all over the counter when you've reached the end of your cord length. It also makes it so much easier to pour contents into wherever they are supposed to go. Seriously, the removable blender cup feature is one that I would never live without now that I have it.
I have owned the Mira grinder for about a year and I LOVE it. I was actually about ready to buy a second one for a vacation home when I found this new Westinghouse. So now I had to have this one and compare! I was really hopeful, too, because the simple fact is this has a classic stainless look to it that I love. So here is how they measured up:

* SIZE: Both are similar in size, but the Westinghouse is definitely more compact. This alone isn't a big enough difference, but if you have a tiny kitchen every inch counts.
* CUP SIZE: Mira is bigger....
