It feels cheap : plastic top instead of glass, plastic body instead of stainless steel, and a power cable so rigid it will crack at colder temperatures.

SandySandy: New to everything about making coffee and ended up with this one. Within the first week, would have given it 2 stars at best because to activate the blender, one had to push down on the plastic cover. To stop the blender, one had to release the cap and let it push up (via internal springs). This design is flawed in that when lifting up, coffee particulars escape around the rubber seal. The implementation is flawed in that the cover sometimes binds and does not release up, thus resulting in over grinding as one struggles to lift up the slippery plastic cover or unplug the plug.

Ok, maybe 1 star at this point.

HOWEVER, a BIG easy-to-reach switch can be added directly to the power cord NEXT TO the plug. Voilà - an easy to use grinder, dust-proof, with a nice removable bin, and an easy way to turn on and off.

At this point 4 stars. Would give it 5 stars if it came with the BIG easy to reach switch next to the plug (and not next to the grinder, which means it is lost on the counter table and not easy to reach).

Mortal Man: I was actually looking for a modest grinder for small quantities to use in my new 5-stream Keurig* brewer. I have their "My K-cup" which lets you brew coffee in a reusable basket instead of using waste-producing plastic K-cups. This inexpensive grinder is surprisingly well-designed for daily use. Best features:
- Stainless steel grinding cup - most others are plastic which quickly degrade
- Grinding cup is removable which makes it easier to fill, scoop from, and clean. In most of the inexpensive small grinders you must pick up the whole unit for these actions which is messy all-around

Those were the biggest selling points for me, but the unit is also quiet and has small suction cups on the base that keep it from sliding around your counter.

*As a side-note, the new Keurig 5-stream brewers cannot handle the compostible non-plastic cups, and the so-called recyclable K-cups are a long way from being recycled on a meaningful scale due to their size and construction requiring disassembly and local ability to actually process them. Using small grinder with a reusable K-cup gives you both fresher coffee and a way to create less plastic waste.

Sam: It says in the seller item description "suitable for dish washing machine." In the manual it says, "Clean the inside of the grinding cup and lid with a dry cloth. Don't use water to clean the them, and never place them in a dishwasher. (it does say "the them," was not my typo, it's in the manual)
So am I not allowed to use soap and water to clean it from the factory??? I'm guessing they don't have sanitary processes during fabrication and assembly. I would have purchased something different if I knew it couldn't go in the dishwasher. I use it for spices, not coffee.

I adjusted my review from 2 stars to 4 stars... Why? Because it works well. It is not dishwasher safe, but I have found that a quick wipe down with a paper towel is fast and does a good job at cleaning it.

YelloBird: Shipped in less than 18 ours. Nicely packaged. Instructions include. Like the little brush for getting rest of coffee grinds out. Not sure I love the suction cup feet, but can understand usefulness. So far grinds well. Used it twice. Inside piece does not remove to clean. Used a damp paper towel to clean out bottom.

@theDavidLeach@theDavidLeach: The media could not be loaded.  In order for me to function on a daily basis I require this unique substance on this Earth called "coffee". It is a wonderful liquid that when prepared properly can elicit smiles from intelligent people. In order for me to prepare the freshest coffee, it requires me to grind fresh coffee beans...which requires a grinder. I had previously been using a hand grinder out of some type of an attempt to be hipster-ish with my coffee. But in reality...it really sucks grinding by hand. My wife had brought an electric coffee grinder into our marriage but it looked straight out of 1992 and was rather loud. Luckily Amazon is creepily listening to everything that I say and within a few days of me complaining about my coffee grinder....Amazon recommends me one!

I chose this specific one for a few reasons. One: because it is one of the only coffee/spice grinders on Amazon that lists the power rating in the name. This tells me that they are confident in the power of the grinder if they are including it in the name. Two: It is black and stainless steel, which matches my appliances. Three: It had competent reviews, not reviews that simply said: "OMG THE...
