pmhack: I've had this for about a year now and it is still working fine. It is just lightweight plastic but it has held up. It's only used indoors and it takes care of the fruit flies that buzz around our fruit basket. Not for heavy duty use but I'm pleased with it.

Buyer.: I bought this and when 1st turned on,it was flickering like worn out florescent bulbs. I wrote to the manufacturer and they wrote back the next day. They sent out an replacement and asked for some more information for their files. It arrived few days later and I can keep the original.
In the meanwhile, company suggested to remove the bulb and re-insert saying sometimes, the shipping causes the bulb to loosen. ** Careful here. After turning the unit off/unplugging, they instructed me to wait 30 minutes. I assume there is a large capacitor that needs to be discharged" I did that and that solved the problem. Now I have two working unit and they really zap the bug. Some of the larger moths cannot get in the grill so they are hang near by but out harms way.
Only thing I ask would be a on/off switch so I do not need to unplug it. I ended up buying a remote outlet so I can turn it off lazily.
Overall, I am happy with the unit. I cannot say anything about the longevity but for last 3 weeks it worked well.

Northern BC shopper: works well but there is no way to wash it out that i've found to clean it properly. it also doesn't have a power button and a very short cord. but like i say it works well, at least for the first 2 months.
