Dave: Used these to make the connections on a new stereo for my boat, I was working with a very thin gauge of wire from the stereo to the speaker wires and the fastener was able to adapt to both sizes of wire.
I used a regular heat gun which was able to melt the solder and glue/shrink the outer casing. I ran an extra piece of shrink tube over top of the original joining connector just in case, being a marine installation.
Great value as the quantity would be equal to buying a 10 pack of connectors locally.

Scalzi: Pretty straight forward to use....i bought these because no crimp was necessary...I used a regular cigarette lighter to melt the adapters keeping the flame at a small distance...shrink the tube on each end of the wire first then heat the middle to flow the solder into the wires...the only thing I found is that the solder does require alot more heat to the point where the solder flows ...this caused some of the solder joints to turn black..it's the only way I could get the solder to flow inside the tube...I tried this on some blank tube without any wires in them and the same thing happened...However from what I see these are good quality..even over heating a blank adapter I stretched it out to see if it would Crack or snap and it wouldn't after I stretched the already over heated blank adapter..would give 5 stars if the solder flowed more easily...one final note I tested all the joints after and they are very strong they aren't being pulled apart thats for sure!...
