It leaves nothing behind, its very easy to set up and start using it, the quality seams to be solid, and the battery last a long time. Yes ist a bit high price tag but 100% worth the money!!

Dideric: I am so glad I found a review that put this model first. The metal deck is such a huge selling point. Rocks are a reality sometimes and metal just feels so much safer. This model also only weighs about 50lbs while all the self powered varieties come in at about 100lbs. Sure you can get self propelled....but this takes almost zero effort to push as it is and self propelled only does so much specially when it comes in at twice the weight. It is also the only model that can run for about an hour off of just one 5ah battery. You will need a 10ah to get the same duration out of a self propelled version. My one gripe is that the cutting blade is absolutely terrible. I mean sure it's metal and sharp but it is the softest metal I have ever encountered on a blade. I made my test run through an area with some tiny pea gravel in some of the grass and a few small sticks.....the blade was massively chipped and the edge was even bent and twisted. I took it off and ground it down and re-edged with a file and it cuts fine again but I will certainly be replacing it.

Nathan Heinrich: I purchased for mowing the lawn at my new house, after only using a gas mower for most of my life. I like that it is much quieter than a gas mower without any of the smells of gasoline after mowing, obviously, and the battery life on the 5aH battery is good enough to mow my front lawn and most of the backyard, too. One minor shortcoming is that the mower is very sensitive to any holes or dips in your yard if you are cutting on a lower height setting, and the mower will cut out much quicker when compared to a gas mower. I ended up just cutting at a higher height setting (3-4+) to avoid this issue altogether. All in all, a great mower without the maintenance of a gas mower. I've since added the string trimmer and blower to my EGO yard tool arsenal, I love that they all use the same battery pack interchangeably!

Rebecca: Having researched the brand for many hours and owning several of their other excellent products including an earlier mower and now 4 batteries, it was my understanding that they had implemented an across the board change so their batteries would come with a fullness indicator with steps around the central button. The battery I received did not have it, indicating it was from an earlier manufacturing date. It is still the ARC advanced tech they implemented years ago that extends battery life during use and across uses).
There are also supposed slight improvements in the latest battery tech for preventing other edge cases that I was hoping to receive. There does not appear to be a way to know what specific battery tech comes inside of the box (I researched for quite awhile to try to determine it).
I wish they would sell direct. They've had issues with distribution (including poor availability on Amazon consistently and other big box retailers) and I don't want to enter all my info for one off purchases at other sites, so I ended up taking the risk and getting an older tech from Amazon.
I've mowed a couple of times and it works well. The brushless motor does seem...

Chris W.: Love this thing. I was skeptical because the electric mowers I've used in the past could barely get half way though my yard. No problem here, and I have a fairly large yard. Finished everything and the battery meter was still on full. Plenty of torque for dry grass at least, great cut, and ohhhh...so quiet. Don't come back smelling like gas and oil, no futzing with a choke or anything else mechanical. Just hit a button and go. No running to the gas station or changing the oil, and the battery charges to 100% in less time than it takes to cook breakfast. My other electric tools take 10x as long for much smaller batteries. Oh, and because I can fold it up, it takes up SO much less space in my shed.
The one gripe would be that there's a lot of plastic here for a $550 mower. I know it's electric, but I had to return the first one because UPS must have thrown the box down some stairs and several plastic bits were shattered. I want metal parts because otherwise this machine will probably last. We shall see, but so far, I'm happy to put the gas mower behind me. This is the way.
