random person: This is the only brand of wood stove fans rated up to 650 F degrees. If you buy a cheaper version, it likely will burn out in the first year of use or within a few months of the temp is over the rating for that product. This is the only one I have found that is rated for higher temps and stands up to everyday use. I have had one of these for 3 years now and it is still working great ! don't buy other brands, just spend a few more dollars to get a product that will last you a long time.

BuysALot: It made a nice gift, looks great on the stove and lets you know when the wood box is headed up. It really doesn’t move any air, especially compared to the electric fan that’s already in use. But if you had a small space or no electric, I bet it’s better than nothing. Either way, it really is super fun and cute.

Amazon Customer: We have a wood burning stove at our cabin. Which we fire up every morning in the spring and fall. It hears the cabin wonderfully and has been in the cabin since 1963 :-)
But the specs on these type fans talked about their efficiency to spread the heat throughout the room faster - which would mean you would need to burn less wood to reach the same comfort level you were used to throughout the cabin — well they were right — our cabin reach a warm comfort level much faster and with two of these setting in too if the wood stove we can direct the heat in any direction warming rooms
Behind the stove or forward toward the kitchen etc.
Also the children like timing when they will start spinning :-)
They spin at certain temperature and I like as the fire slowly burns out the will warn you if you see them turning slowly that your hot coals are almost burned out - and if they are stopped you know your stove is cold enough.
Good fans — dead quite — don’t expect a wind force from them to blow your face but trust me they move air very well.

David J. Domina: The Fan works well and as many have said, it is very quiet. You can not hear it running. I like the automatic on/off capability of the fan based on the stove temp with no electricity required.

There are a couple of points that I wanted to comment on for your awareness when considering to purchase.

There is no protective shield around the blades, so beware when running!

The directions point out that the fan should not be positioned in the middle or in front of the stove pipe if it exits out the top of the stove.
The fan should be positioned off to the side of the stove pipe such that the fan can draw in cooler air over the Peltier Module, otherwise the
fan may not work properly. So, you have to find the "sweet spot" on the stove where the base is getting hot enough to get the fan up to speed, yet it can still pull in cooler air to keep the heat sink & top of the Peltier module cool enough to maintain a temp delta for maximum fan speed. Something to think about!

Also, it may be obvious, but keep in mind that the fan speed is dependent on stove temp and it is quiet because the fan speed can only ramp up to a maximum of 175 CFM of air flow. So, if...

Crash: Quality built and packaged this nice looking accessory will not move volumes of air but it runs for nothing and looks nice doing it. I have a large quality wood burner so overheating is not an issue. Using the latest formula of extruded Blazers (get them from Costco or Home Depot) and you won't get ripped as locals are charging more. They sell by the pallet at highly discounted prices. The wood back to the fan. This fan should be considered by anybody that has the money and anything but the smallest of wood burners as heat is an issue. The one thing that kept that fifth star from popping is the motor is electric and they are by design, not very heat friendly. The energy source is a thermocouple which works off the difference in the heat on the bottom of the unit and the cooler air in the room. The difference makes the juice that powers the motor. I wish there was a all around better way to accomplish this then an electric motor but in that size and price it's quite cutting edge none the less. We'll see about longevity as their warranty is 1 year and they'll replace it as long as you don't send one to them that's fryed from overheating. Gets the hot air away from the wall in a...
