AC Infinity AXIAL S1225 120mm Muffin Fan with Speed Controller for Quiet and Efficient Cooling

TJ: I have one of these cooling my router and it works great. With that one it is the thicker version motor and it is infinitely adjustable.

For my audio receiver and entertainment setup I figured I'd get another one of these and I noticed this slimmer version. It works, but anytime you turn the potentiometer below halfway the motor barely turns. At mid-speed it moves way more than enough air and is loud. Also as loud as it is, randomly it'll slow down for ten seconds or so and then speed up. Not sure what the deal is with this unit.

Hil: I have installed it in the upper corner of my doorway to bring hot or cold air in or out of my bedroom from the living room (which has a mini split heater/air conditioner). It's easy to unscrew and re-mount in the other direction when the weather changes. (It brings risen hot air from the living room to my bedroom in winter or pulls out the risen hot air from the bedroom to the cooler living room in summer.)
On the highest setting, in a few minutes it can exchange all of the air in the rooms, and they're more comfortable.

Dr-Phone: I'm totally blind. I needed a fan to put in a spot to force some air behind a wall that has some pipes that freeze in the dead of winter. So I gave this one a chance. I knew the fan was the correct widgth to fit the area I wanted to put it.

Anyway when I received the fan! I noticed it felt all mettle I like that. I noticed it has a plug on one corner for the power cord to plug into. The finger grils aren't attached. I like the fact all the screws and the like are in zip lock baggies. Same for the power cord and controller.

Now for me, I couldn't really figger out how the hinge attached to the fan. I thouhte part went on the top and the fan hun from it. But that didn't feel correct. So slept on it. Came to the determination the hinge part went towards the bottom. So when the fan hangs on it! The side of the hinge will keep the fan level. So that is how I did it. I used all 8 rubber things between the grils and the fan itself. The fan is quiet to me on high speed.

What I don't like. The power cord needs to be about 5 foot longer. It is currently maybe 6 feet from end to end. the controller box is in the middle. The round knob isn't reall good at changing speed....

Christian Fernandez: Bought this fan for a duct I was making for my pc. While the fan itself is nice/heavy duty feeling, there's an obvious buzzing/electrical sound that it makes while in use. What's really annoying is the noise goes away at higher speeds so its something with the speed controller or how it handles incoming voltage. I emailed their customer support and they responded quickly and sent a replacement right away but that had the same issue as well so I just gave up on it since its an obvious design flaw somewhere. Other than that the fan does work, but really wish it was quieter. Still gave it 4 stars since it is completely functional and the customer support was quick/easy/nice.

Charles Dupuis: This is the forth AC INFINITY fan I have ordered but the first with the speed controller , the fan itself works great as always but the controller could have a better range , by that I mean that you have to set the controller to the max setting and then turn it down to your desired speed but if you go down below 50% speed the fan will struggle to keep a constant speed as it will slow down to almost stall and then speed up again but that is the nature of these controllers if you need better speed control you need to get Variac Transformer but those are expensive so overall for the price of this unit it's good but not great for speed control , also if you have this fan on a timer you will have to go through the above process all over again .
