The cold plates are only supposed to stay cold for 4-6 hours, but this cooler has kept my merchandise frozen for 10 hours. It was opened and closed A LOT at the long event and I didn’t have any issues with melting merchandise. I have two of these coolers due to the performance if the insulation.
The only negative is the handle and wheel configuration. The handle isn’t long enough and it bangs your ankles/calves if you walk in front if it, or you have to walk next to it with an awkward lean. This thing is heavy when loaded, so it’s tough to lift for me. Thankfully I don’t usually move it far, but it’s something to consider. I think a rigid handle and bigger wheels would make this cooler better. It’s hard to roll on anything that isn’t smooth because the wheels are so small.

Bob Carver: What a fantastic cooler. It’s insulated better than I thought. It’s heavy weight and extremely durable. I’d recommend it to anyone.

DB STOUT: This review is for the 30 quart size. We've used it for several camping trips, including a two-week outing, so have some experience with it now. In general, we only have good things to say about it.
It consistently kept ice, with a full load of food, for about three full days before the last of the ice melted. The weather was cool on our trip, usually below 75 degrees F during the day, and into the 40's at night. We did not leave it out in the sun for extended periods. So can't say how it'll do on a hotter trip or if it's kept in direct sunlight.
Even so, three days of ice is good for the price and size. Keeping in mind that the smaller a cooler, the shorter the ice retention time - and a 30 quart cooler isn't that big, as coolers go.
Very happy with the quality. It has a nice, sturdy feel. The lid provides an air-tight fit. We tested it by putting some water in it, turned it upside down, shook it, and nary a drop leaked out.
We especially like the compact design. We needed something that would fit into a tight space and not take extra room. Many coolers have handles, pulls or wheels that stick out. We have limited room in our tiny camper, so that's...

Carina ZinglCarina Zingl: I bought this one over a year ago and have now used it on 3 campouts (only due to COVID). We are with the Boyscouts and I'm a vivid outdoor cook, usually cooking for the adults patrol! So this was an essential and critical piece of equipment that I needed to be able to trust to keep our perishables cool, however I was not willing to spend $300 or more for a brand cooler.
After a lot of research and a few coolers ordered and sent back I stayed with this one:
- Very sturdy, hinges, can opener, handles, plug, everything is heavy duty, cannot see a difference to a eg. a Yeti.
- It is built so well, that a Rubbermaid or Iglo cooler appears to be a rip off in comparison.
- Like the rope handles, they don't stick out (and consume space) but when you carry it, they are above lid surface, so that you don't squish your fingers.
- Right size to hold stuff for the usual campout from Friday evening to Sunday morning for up to a handful of adults, but not too big so that it takes half of your trunkspace away (which is needed for dutch oven, camping table and cooking gear etc.)
- While others might find 35Qt small, size was very important for me. Who goes on regular, short...
