Sahul, S.: I was surprised by the sheer weight of the scale. It gave me the impression tt it can withstand heavy weights. I changed it easily fr lbs to kg with just a press of the button. And the best of it all is that the weight reading remains the same even when i step on it multiple times, unlike my other weighing scale tt changes by the second! And it arrived earlier than expected fr amazon us! Am impressed!!

Julesluvs2shop: I bought the scale because my girlfriend had the same one and it was fairly accurate for the price. As a weight class sport athlete, I wanted a scale that was consistent and fairly accurate to weigh myself everyday. This does the trick and can't complain. I explain more below.

Being blunt, I have no affiliation with the company, just actually read the instructions/tested the accuracy. But feel free to message me if you want to give me a lifetime supply of scales! ;)

Starting off with the accuracy, it is about 0.2kg light per 25kg (0.4lbs per 55.1 lbs) which is great for the price range. It was also consistent at this variance from 25kg (read 24.8), 50kg (49.6) and 75kg (74.6), so it is easy to do a little math to get my real weight. The plates I used to measure the accuracy of the scale was done on calibrated kg plates and not your regular gym weights. So the accuracy is truly measured here and not with your 45 pound gym plate that is actually 43.7lbs or 46.3 but you think the scale is off. The scale I have and my girlfriend have the same 0.2kg per 25kg. So for a 30 dollar scale, it is pretty damn accurate and at least consistent, so I can do the math.

Crystal BeachCrystal Beach: This review is limited on the experience with the manual. I have not used the scale long enough to review the functionality of scale.

1. Before I bought the unit, I read the information about it on the Amazon website. I understand that a measurement tape comes with the package. When I receive unit, I do not see the tape. The manual says “Your EatSmart Bathroom comes with the following: ….” It lists 3 things without mentioning the tape. I write to the company and they confirm that it should come with the measuring tape. So, the manual is wrong.

2. The manual says the unit needs be calibrated before use. It says “firmly press the glass platform to activate the back light, but do not stand on the platform. Allow the scale to 0.0 and turn off”. I follow this instruction, but the display never turns to 0.0. It keeps running.

3. The scale displays “10: 6.8 st”. We have hard time to figure out what that means. We ask around and nobody knows. People think that st means setting, which relates to set a target weight. But how? When we write to the manufacturer, we realize that st means stone, a unit used somewhere in Europe.

Alita: [EDIT: 5/17/11]: After leaving my initial review, I was immediately contacted by the wonderful staff of the EatSmart team. The vice-president himself reached out to make amends for the lemon that I had received. Now that, my fellow consumers, is true customer service and dedication to their products. I was shipped a new bathroom scale with no hassle and no questions asked (except whether or not I would mind receiving a new scale!). The new scale arrived promptly and as far as I'm concerned works like a charm. I rigorously tested it on all smooth surfaces in my house for 4 days (and what do you know? the batteries that came with it worked this time!). The scale is beautiful, no non-sense, practical, and accurate.

What else is there to say? Except that I love my scale, and even more so, the truly stellar customer service that comes from the EatSmart team.

Pussycat Pixie: UPDATE NOV 5, 2012: This is the 2nd time we purchase this very same bathroom scale. The only reason we bought it again is because we moved and gave the one we bought in 2009 away to a friend (she is quite happy with it). We were THRILLED that this awesome product has been improved. We expected the same great product we have enjoyed so far, but this most recent purchase has managed to exceed our expectations. Our previous bathroom scale made us happy; this bathroom scale is even much more gratifying. It doesn't need to be tapped to turn it on; you just STEP ON IT! This bathroom scale is EXCELLENT.
