The Eaton 5S1500LCD UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector is the best Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) on the market. With 1500VA / 900W of power, AVR, and an LCD Display, this Line Interactive unit is designed to provide superior build quality, performance, durability, and tech support. Unfortunately, it is not available for sale in Colorado, Vermont, or Washington.Evelyn: If you plan on ever running your Starlink off a generator or any sensitive equipment for that matter it’s going to be a life saver running it though this system, the unit conditions the power into pure sine wave and protects the sensitive parts from power surges

A.V.:
We use these Eatons at work, and I was pretty impressed with their performance. Decided to buy one for myself and I'm quite happy with it so far. Simple and reliable, no LCD screens or anything fancy.
Only complaint is the software, I'd highly recommend not bothering with it. It's hard to find, very dated and kind of glitchy. The built in Windows UPS feature works much better, and works without installing anything. The only thing the software is good for is enabling that automatic power saving feature, but at least for me, it didn't work well on any of the sensitivity settings.
I've heard these are now being discontinued, which is a shame. Hopefully whatever Eaton replaces it with will be just as reliable.

Rafael: Desde que llegó, marcó error. Aunque el distribuidor me atendió muy bien, se los envié y nunca lo pudieron reparar ni cambiar.

I have a 5S LCD model.
The UPS worked flawlessly for 13 or 14 months until we got hit by a severe thunderstorm. The surge arrest bank protected connected loads, but the UPS experienced an internal fault I could not clear.
I was not home at the time of the thunderstorm but people told me lightening was quite severe. I think this is a very rugged unit and it carries a 3-year warranty.
I called warranty service. They opened up a warranty ticket. I had a brand new unit in a week.
There are a few people who have reported premature failure. None of them mention having contacted Eaton Warranty Service. Remember! These have a THREE-YEAR WARRANTY so if you have a problem, call the warranty center.

This is the second of these Eaton units I've purchased, my other one being the 700VA unit. It seems very well made and the batteries are easily replaceable. The unit is completely silent while in normal operation, it is only noisy when running off the batteries. My total power consumption hovers around the 300W mark, leaving me with about 15 minutes of battery run time at this load.
Eaton started the open source NUT (Network UPS Tools) project, so obviously this unit works perfectly with the NUT tools, but my setup is a little different as I'm plugging the USB into a Synology NAS, but I have a Debian based Proxmox server also connected to the unit. My setup goes like this, NAS and Proxmox server (a Dell R710) along with some POE network gear plugged into the UPS. I want the servers shutting down after a couple of minutes to leave the remaining battery power for the network gear. I achieved this by plugging in the NAS to the USB, since Synology has a built in NUT server that you can connect clients to, the only drawback being all clients need fixed IP addresses you can only list five IPs, but you can easily get around both limitations by just using a...

Matt: I've had the Eaton 5SC1500 plugged in for little over a week and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Yes this unit has a higher price tag than a CyberPower UPS but the quality and post-sale support from EATON are worth the price. Also the ABM should in theory have the internal battery last ~5 years. That's longer than any APC or CyberPower unit I have read about.
My equipment is pulling roughly 130w of power on average. Roughly speaking that's 11% capacity of this unit with 1 hour of battery capacity if there were an outage.
Now from the beginning, this UPS weighs 34lbs so be careful lifting with your back. Make sure to open the front panel to plug in the batteries when you receive the unit. Before you plug in any equipment into the UPS outlets, plug the unit into wall power to let the internal batteries charge for at least 8 hours. The elephant in the room, the loud fan. Yes it's annoying when it's running BUT that's only if the internal battery is charging. Once the battery charge state reaches >96%, the fan shuts off. I have not encountered the fan running with a higher load on the UPS as of yet. There is also a buzz of electricity coming...
