Easily Change Tires on Dual-Axle Trailers with Trailer Aid Plus Tandem Tire Changing Ramp

ETCookETCook: When I took delivery of the TrailerAid Plus, I tested it on my concrete driveway. The ramp worked as advertised, lifting the unsupported tire clear of the ground. Unfortunately, the first time I needed to use the ramp, the one year warranty had expired. My tire management system alerted me that one of the travel trailer tires was steadily losing pressure. I was traveling through a rural town in north Florida but was close to a well known tire store. I was directed to pull around back in the alley due to limited space. The ground surface was hard packed sand. I thought this was a good opportunity to use the ramp in order to speed up the repair process. The ramp cracked as I pulled the camper up to the tire changing position. The tire was repaired, but the ramp has severe cracks on both sides. I contacted Camco and was told that I was out of the warranty period. Buyer beware. Either move your camper to a hard surface, or risk a one-and-done experience. I don't know where I'll be when the next flat tire happens but I plan to use a different method of lifting the flat tire. I won't spend another $60+ on this product.

SCSmithSCSmith: I have a 32' center console boat on a triple axle Ameritrail trailer. This product isn't quite tall enough to get the other wheels off the ground entirely. So even when I use it I still have to use a jack to get it up the last inch or so to get the wheel/tire off. Not quite as robustly constructed as advertised either. The lower portions that are near the concrete have chipped off and broken leaving sharp edges quick to draw blood if you pick it up from the bottom, which ironically is the only way to pick it up. I'm searching for a better alternative now.

Josh: Well, I've had this for about 8 months and finally had the unfortunate circumstances to use it lol. While towing my boat on a tandem axle trailer, I hit a pot hole and smashed one of the rims. This lead to a blow out and the need to change the rim/tire. We weren't very far from the boat ramp and parking lot so, I decided it would be safer to do it there. After breaking the lugs loose, I laid Trailer Aid down and backed the trailer onto it (which took all of 15 seconds). Once under the good rim/tire on the same side it provided me plenty of clearance (easy 4-5 inches under the tire) to pull the bad one off and toss the spare on! Honestly, I was super impressed with how easy and efficient it made the process. Now, I was hustling as my boat was still at the ramp but the whole process took me only about ten minutes without having to set up a jack and all that mess. I toss one in the back of my truck every time I tow the boat and even bought a few more to toss in my other trailers. Really, really great design and about as easy to use as you could ever imagine. Its a little bulky but way lighter than a jack and I would highly recommend this to anyone if it fits your needs!

farmers mum: Today was the first time to use this, and whilst it did it's job, the ramp snapped off! Not good, I'm sure you'll agree, whilst parked on the side of the M4, trying to change a tyre on a sheep trailer. It did the job of holding the trailer in place with no problem, however, it was frightening to see that the ramp had snapped. Will be contacting the seller to advise asap. I think it must have been a fault at manufacture, as I have not heard of this happening with any of my neighbours who also have Tailer Aids

Amazon Customer: I just received my Tire Changing Ramp several days ago and am impressed with the product quality. The reason for the purchase is I have a 33 foot Fifth Wheel and to have to change a tire is NOT easy for me with my disability. This does NOT include the danger of trying to change a tire beside the HWY. Several of my friends were forced to do so and fortunately this product made the job so much easier as you just drive onto it to LIFT the trailer without having to "JACK" it up which is a job in itself and can be dangerous. The use of this product minimizes the time spent and physical labor to get you back on the road.
Your SAFETY is the most important consideration. if in doubt call for assistance.
