greenbean: I bought this to replace a similar item that was included for free with a leash I had bought. That one was practically eggshell thin and cracked badly in no time. This one is very stout and sturdy, with a good screw-on closure. I also like that it comes with a Velcro strap instead of a cheap caribiner clip that. Those often break easily, and this strap provides flexibility in attaching it to different things. I was skeptical about the little clip built in to hold a filled poop bag and really didn't think I would use it. I wear the dispenser on a belt strap with a training treat pouch, and who wants a bag of poop bouncing against you as you walk? But I found that if I knot the bag down close to the load, it hangs such that it doesn't flop around and is held away from me. Nice, hands-free poop stowage until I get to a trash can. The bags do smell nice, but I use bags that are fully compostable, so I only opted for the one roll that came with the dispenser. I do recommend this dispenser, but I also recommend you use fully compostable bags too (instead of the ones that come with this product).

Lane W. Foster: I really like this dispenser, but my biggest problem is the bottom has come off a couple of times. I'm not sure if someone at home screwed it on too tight and sort of stripped it out (which then obviously isn't the manufacturer's problem) or maybe the puppy did something to it (also not a manufacturer issue). The bottom has only popped off a couple of times though and never on a walk. So my advice would be to not let your dog drag the leash around with this attached. My second thing is I wish the velcro strap wasn't so long so I could have the dispenser tight on the leash, but that's a minor thing.

What I love is that it has a hook at the back and after your knot your bag you can stick it in this hook and the knot of the bag holds it in place on the hook. Very handy and then you don't have a bag of poo in your pocket or in your hand. It also helps when you leave a bag somewhere to pick up on your way back and then forget about it or end up going a different way.

The dispenser itself is a nice size and easy to use. I haven't had any issues getting bags out of it. The bags are nice too. They're plenty big even for a large breed (unless they have super voluminous giant...

Sarah: I bought these to be more "green" and see if they would hold up to the gross job they needed to. I know with some other biodegradable bags I have tried they were extraordinarily thin. Being the only barrier between my hand and excrement, I hoped that they had not skimped on material. We have been using these pretty regularly and I feel very confident with the thickness of it. I don't feel like my finger is going to poke out and the unspeakable will happen. Some lesser brand of bags have gotten thrown away for this reason. We had no problems with leaks. Even the unprotected roll that my shepherd (who does not have a "soft mouth") picked up and carried around the house were fine. They had little indents from her teeth marks, but still kept their integrity. It is still a thin bag, but we have had no issues.

I had been looking for a solid biodegradable bag and feel I have found a decent option with these. Canada is way better about recycling than we are, so if it meets their standards, I am satisfied with that.
