EarFun Air Pro True Wireless Earbuds with Hi-Fi Stereo Sound & Active Noise Cancellation

Mr. C. J. Webb: The box containing these Earfun Pro 1 earbuds arrived promptly with outer cellophane packing intact. I love listening to music through them, and that is why I have given them top score.

I have also owned the What Hi-Fi recommended Earfun buds and these were definitely a snip at £27.99. Spoken word sounded fine, and music was just beyond the borderline of being simply OK. Music sounded fairly good, if a little muddy. (As an aside, this model has no noise cancelling feature).

My wife owns the Earfun Pro 3 which are smaller, more technically advanced and have 5.3 longer range bluetooth. She's OK with them, but to my untrained ear music does not sound pleasant at all, even when she has tried to adjust the mix with the equaliser available via the online app.

My purchase may be of an older 2020 model, the Earfun Pro 1, but based on expert reviews they have a very neutral sound, especially in the midrange. I am no expert, but my ears tell me that these are a great purchase, and well worth the £49.99 price tag.

Andy: Firstly, the sound is fantastic. Deep bass, clear audio, great sound proofing and pretty comfy. Generally they are really good. However, their smart buttons are horrendous. Examples:

- You 'tap' twice to change sound modes (ambient, normal, noise reduction). The modes are great, but the amount of times they accidentally trigger is more than you'd think. Then you have to cycle through to get back to what mode you wanted. Simply pushing the earphones in can cause them to change, or brushing them against your coat, or picking them up after taking them out briefly.

- They have this automatic sensor that detects when your take them out, so it'll turn off anything connected. This includes videos, music and CALLS. I once waited 1 hour with a call centre, waiting to get through the an agent. I went to put my hat on, accidentally tapped my earphone and it hung up. I was absolutely livid. Say you're watching a video and you have an itchy ear. It'll pause the video until you put it back in. After which, it may even play a Spotify song that you listened to before so now you have music and a video playing at once. The sensor isn't reliable either. If I'm watching a video on my...

Amazon Customer: Great sound - good bass but not overpowering.
People seem to be able to hear me fine on phone calls too.
Noise cancellation is pretty effective.
They are comfortable but I find that the right one doesnt fit easily and can fall out - it does come with different sized ear plugs but even so. I might just have odd ears!
The other annoying thing is that you can't adjust volume from the headphones
Overall though, good value

Following the review I left, below, the seller contacted me and very kindly offered a full refund on the ear buds.

Because they responded and made the offer, it made me actually sit our 16 year old son down and determine what exactly had gone wrong with the buds.

It turned out the earbuds weren't faulty at all and it was a build up of, probably, wax in them that affected the sound. That's sorted now after a good clean (the earbuds and the ears!).

So, no refund necessary and earbuds working perfectly again.

I'd like to thank the seller for making the effort to contact me after I left the original 3 star review. That's quite impressive given that there's thousands of reviews on here.

I've upgraded the star rating to 5 stars (from 3) as the 'fault' wasn't anything to do with the earbuds but our son's ear wax!

Great customer service to offer a refund without any prompting too.

Given all of the above, I'd certainly recommend them, both for the sound quality of the buds and the level of customer service.

RR: I've had these about 2 years. They are ok and they've held up pretty well, but i wouldn't buy them again and wouldn't recommend them overall.
Good
-Nice sounds, really rich and good quality.
-Decent battery life
-Looks good (i think. I like the angle of the stem)
-Good microphones for calls.
-Seems durable

Poor
-Dreadful at pairing with multiple devices. Basically i have to re-pair every time i switch devices which is a pain. So if i turn off my computer and later want to use them with my phone, i have to pair them anew every time. Then going back to my computer is the same thing.
-Auto sensor for pausing when you remove the buds is really unreliable. Sometimes it does work, but 7 or 8 times out of 10 what happens is it keeps playing, and then shuts off when you put it back in your ear, which is highly annoying. Now what i have to do is after removing the bud i have to put it closer to my ear to listen if it's paused or not, and if not i have to manually pause it.
-Poor microphone quality when using a single bud. I prefer this mode as it means I'm aware of how loud i talk and what's going on around me, but people on calls report struggling to hear...

Shane: Update: (7/13/21)
I started having this strange intermittent cut out while using them. I thought it was the bluetooth on my phone but it actually was because the case was in my pocket and anytime it was pressed or I bumped something, it would cause a temporary disconnect. Think: early era Walkman without the skip buffer on it.

At first, I didn't mind it, I put the case in my vest pocket and all was well. But it started doing it again.

I don't have an office job, I'm a personal shopper. So I'm walking circles 9 hours a day and slinging totes. I'm pretty sure if I had a less active job, it wouldn't be an issue...but for now, I just can't use them anymore and went back to my JBL earbuds. I'll miss the ANC on these, and might keep them as my "Mowing" earbuds since it does at least cancel out half the noise and makes it easier to get through a mowing session.

The other issue was that every time the left earbud died, it would disconnect. I could use the right earbud after that, but even when I charged the left earbud, it wouldn't reconnect. I'd have to completely wipe the bluetooth connection from my phone, repair the buds together, then repair them to my phone....

Owen H.Owen H.: I was excited to try out the EarFun Air Pro after I had read about them on some audio websites. I liked the styling and they seemed very compact and looked like they would work well for me at the gym, on the go, and at the office. I decided to take a chance and ordered them. They arrived the next day thanks to Amazon’s Prime's fast shipping.

 Accessories -

When I got the earbuds they came nicely packaged in a petite box. Included in the box is a USB C cable and 3 sizes of ear tips, small, medium, and large. The Air Pro themselves came fully charged in the very small charging case, the charging connectors on the earbuds had a small protective film that needed to be removed before using them. 

Features\Build Quality -

The earbuds use an accelerometer to allow for touch controls, for example two taps on the right earbud starts\pauses music, 3 taps on the right bud advance a track, 3 taps on the left ear bud cycle through hybrid active noise cancelling, transparent mode, normal mode etc. I found it easy to get used to the controls and found they performed well.
