EAAGD Digital Alarm Clock: Illuminate Your Bedroom with a 3D LED Electronic Clock

Daveheart: I wanted a clock at my entertainment center in the theater.

You get typical functions you expect out of a clock:
-24/12hr
-Brightness level
-Night mode

Night mode is good because it will darken when it enters night mode, which you set.
By default, nightmode begins at 6pm causing it to darken, and nightmode ends at 6am, causing it to return to the brightness level you have specified.

For the price, it's size and features are good enough and worth the purchase.

I would like to see a variation that supports multiple colors (RGB) so I could also pick any color I wanted, and maybe paired with some smart functionality so nightmode could be set based on a location setting and daylight savings, etc.

Overall, good price for features and certainly serves its intended purpose.

hfdjr: So far this clock seems to work well and is fun. The lighting seems very good and has different levels of brightness. It has no differentiation of AM and PM however, just a 12 hour or 24 hour setting.

Not easy to read in daylight (see photo) and at night it’s far too bright. The user should not have to continually change the brightness setting. I’m not returning it, not neither would have I bought it given its fatal flaw.

Paul S.: It's a great design if you want something for outside of a bedroom environment. Even on it's dimmest setting it was way way too bright for a bedroom. Ended up returning it which was hassle-free.
I'd recommend for a room where you want supplemental lighting but not in your bedroom.

Robert JRobert J: I decided to go ahead and buy this to update the alarm clock in my room. I figured the large numbers would be easy to read from anywhere in the bedroom.

Upon getting it, I realized that the dimming function didn’t do much, after one night with it lighting up my room, I felt like I was in the episode from Seinfeld where the chicken place drove Kramer crazy with its super bright red light invading his apartment.

I decided to take action, at first I thought I’d go ahead and modify the circuit to just lower the current of the LEDs but once I opened it, the beautiful board was clearly not going to help me trace any lines and I reverted to a much lower tech approach.

The 7-segment LEDs has a diffuser which helped uniformity spread the light across the segment, so I just used some plain lightweight printer paper and doubled the material between the diffuser and the LEDs. So far the difference is notable, and I no longer wake up with the power of 1,000 suns illuminating the room.

LuckyLucyLuckyLucy: Its cheaply made but.... Functional.
As you can see from the picture it's rather hard to make out the numbers ... Even worse in bright daylight. This isn't a good desk clock. Up close, the contrast between the illuminated vs not illuminated is just confusing to the eye. But when you stand far away you can easily make out the time. Its really small too so don't think it will look goodon the wall.... Well happy with it anyway because I did find a spot to place it where it does look good.

I really wish they provided a longer cable to plug it in.

Nancy: I just LOVE this VERY BRIGHT i.e. easy to see and really cool looking clock. For me, any and all action transpiring during sleeping and waking rituals, are a blur~ literally! To be honest, I can see most stuff if it's no further than 2 feet from my mug-- but one thing I cannot make out even if the clock is on a close bedside table ( even with the "squint") are numbers on a clock. I have had other digital very large sized clocks, which have large -but skinny numbers that are hard for me to read. Firstly -This clock just looks really cool and usually clocks that are simular in appearance and style are very expensive. Second - I can SEE *SANS SQUINT* from across the room what time is it. The numbers are clear bright and large, and my choice of color (white numbers on a black screen) I believe also effect my ability to read the clock from afar. I am going to pick up a few more- the price is relatively reasonable, the clock ( is to be fair ) is a plastic slapped together Chinese export BUT HEY, I can see it and and I think the clock looks really cool as well.
