B rad: They call it a medium but it won’t even fit on my smallest finger and I don’t have large hands so only the large will fit unless you have really really skinny fingers.

russ: I purchased these for a professional musician friend. He loves them and said the tone is awesome. However, he said he cannot tell the difference in sound between the steel and the porcelain. Said they both fit well so comfort isn’t an issue. Sturdy, too! He dropped the porcelain slide on a concrete sidewalk and we were both relieved when it merely bounced. Didn’t even chip!

Great products!

Irving Mora: Es un sonido un poco mas cálido que el de vidrio, aunque no le atine a la medida de mi dedo... creo que debo escoger uno ligeramente mas grande

Christopher R.Christopher R.: Figure out which finger you are going to use slide on and figure out your ring size for that finger. Then consult the slide size chart on Dunlop's website before ordering.
This is a size 7. It has a much warmer, less brittle sound than glass. Also, the bare porcelain inside keeps it from slipping of your finger. I ordered the Moonshine and the Mudslide at the same time to compare. The Mudslide is about 1/2 a hair heavier and warmer.

Dean D.Dean D.: If you take away one thing from this review it is: try slides in-store before buying. I am an average 5'11 human male with normal hands and the medium is too small for me (should have trusted the other reviews!). I make it work by imitating what Paul Gilbert does and never letting the slide go below my first knuckle on my middle finger and bending my fingers (maybe that's what they were going for?). Even then it's snug. If you want a slide that will go over your entire finger, buy a large or this is not it.

This thing is finnicky compared to glass slides. I am not a slide player but needed to write a slide part for a song. I was struggling with this, then tried a glass slide and it was immediately noticeably easier to use. Not sure if my technique is terrible (it probably is) or what, but glass slides are far easier to use for me. I believe the reason is that this is slightly out of true (look at the edge where it comes in contact with the guitar; it's not perfectly flat).

Overall, this is clearly working for a lot of people. I don't think it's entirely terrible, but glass is what I'm after. To try to over-simplify the difference in tone in terms of what I'm hearing:...

Dustin Kelley: I have used steel slides, bottleneck slides, half sized glass slides, and a stone slide, but none of them are as comfortable or enjoyable to use. Normally I prefer a narrow slide, because I thought it gave me more maneuverability, but after purchasing and using this slide as my daily driver, I realized a thicker, longer slide gives you more to hold onto and allows your hand to stay in a more natural position, even when playing with capo placed low on the neck. As mentioned above I play with a capo, and I play with a capo pretty much every time I pick up my guitar, my action is already fairly low, but the capo brings the action down even lower, and still the slide performs great. To sum up, if you have not picked up a ceramic slide, buy this one. If you have not used a larger slide, buy this one. Additionally I use this slide on my pinky, so maybe if your a ring finger slide player than the benefits of this slide may not “resonate” with you.

SN: Outil parait pour les nouveaux dans l’utilisation du slide, glisse bien, belle tenue, la céramique fait respirer le slide et permet d’obtenir un son des plus clairs!

Zontar the munificent: this slide is flawless, in my personal opinion. You cant go wrong with it. Nice grippy texture inside. Its not too heavy but not light like a cheap piece of garbage.
i have small hands. so rings, watches, GUITAR SLIDES, you name it... They dont fit. If I wanted a slide that fit, I'd have bought a smaller one.
I assume my index finger is about the same size as a normal persons ring finger since this slide fits super snug on my index. On my ring finger its super bulky so i gotta use my other fingers to hold onto it so i dont drop it lol.

But that just me. If your reading this, and you have normal, NOT chubby dude fingers, this should serve you well.
If you're a thicker guy (and let's be honest, a lot of guys into slide guitar are...) Get the larger sized one. The medium WONT fit. My hands are small, and it grips my index finger, so assume your ring finger won't fit a medium!
All of that aside, this is a GREAT slide. Super warm tone, but still carries a well volumed high frequency.

Stu: I'm one of those slide players with a whole collection of different slides in materials ranging from glass to brass to chrome. I even went for one of the medicine bottle ones once. Currently, this is my favourite. It has a tone that is as articulate as glass, but with some of the depth and warmth that you get from brass. It is one of the few slides I've come across that likes both clean and higher gain tones, and its ceramic structure means it doesn't get foggy, slick and horrible after a few tunes. The only slight quibble comes when selecting sizes, since mine is in an awkward spot where it's a fraction big for my little finger, and I have to really work to get it off again with my ring finger. It also costs a little more than a cheap brass one for those players whose slide isn't their main thing. It's worth it, though.
