Our dryer is vented to the outside. Unfortunately, the dryer duct has been installed above and almost parallel to the heating duct, and they are located in the crawl space adjacent to our basement. Our dryer became inefficient in drying, which led me to surmise the duct work was clogged. The actual ducting is not a straight course to the outside, which made adequate cleaning a hit and miss. My Wife and I decided to drop the duct in order see and clear any clogging. In the crawl space, I found a puddle of water beneath the ducting…which was caused by moisture and lint blockage that was accumulating in the bend of the duct work and dripping condensation from the seam in the ducting. After dropping the heat duct in order to access the dryer duct, we were able to access to entire duct run, which was well over 10 feet. Ridiculous installation by the home builder in placing the dryer duct above the heat duct and angled to the outside. We cleared over 18 years of lint from the duct - guessing it was 95% clogged. We reinstalled and realized we had a potential hazard on our hands. The Duct Lint...

Curious: The device does apparently work and is likely strong enough, but a reinforced siding might be useful where the placement is less well protected and may be vulnerable to some damage. It has to be accessible to remove the filter for cleaning, so that it requires exposure and unless it is placed behind a barrier, the washing area could perhaps see some vulnerability to its exposure. The plastic construction should hold up to routine contact, but may be less tolerant of an impact from incidental unplanned contact. Even a reinforcing external metal strip about the box could increase its strength. The fitting rings might also have a raised rim to separate the placement of the incoming and outgoing tubing so as to prevent some resistance to the chamber door remaining closed. I attempted to see if this could be a problem. If the tubing is placed too close to the box, it does interfere with the secure closure of the box so that even an 1/8 inch lip by the box preventing overly close fitting of the tubing would be a very simple modification and prevent problem installation.
The filter and its fitting require no address.
I have had no problems using this in limited trials and expect...

6schlegels6schlegels: I can not believe, how well this product works! My vent blows onto my roof at the front of my home. The lint looked terrible on my roof. I researched products went with the “Pro Clean” Dryer Duct Lint Trap and I couldn’t be happier. Each load of laundry I now quickly remove lint from both the dryer trap and the “Pro Clean” trap. Its a total Game changer! It was extremely easy to install, I did spend an extra $17 at home depot to purchase a new Everbuilt 8’ x4” flexible dryer transition duct (in picture) to make installation easier. Plus $3 on rubber foam as I read in another person’s review it gives the trap a better seal. I absolutely love this ‘Pro Clean’ lint duct gadget. I highly recommend it if you have lint flying everywhere like I did before installing this lint trap.

tredunlimitedtredunlimited: I recently installed the Fantech DBF 110 (ASIN: B000GXF7KO) and learned that I should put in an additional lint tap, so that's what I did with this inline lint trap. It's a very simply made device that is very affordable.
I could have installed it in the attic, but I wanted something that was easier to access than having to use a ladder to climb up into the attic. After all, the instructions for the lint trap states to clear the lint after every load, so having it in the attic would be a huge inconvenience.
Thankfully, I had just enough room to do this between the dryer and the wall. I dug through my automotive bins and found a 4 inch flexible coupler and I cut it to the size that I wanted. I secured each end using the worm gear clamps that came with the lint trap kit.
Just as other reviewers have commented, there's a gap near the window that might allow lint to go around the lint tap. I'll have to find something to close that gap.
So far, it doesn't seem like I need to clean this lint trap every time. Or maybe lint is going around the trap, and the DBF 110 is sucking it up. 😰

Robert J.: Simple to install, simple construction. Nothing complicated but works perfectly just as advertised.
Keeps my ducting from getting clogged and having to hire a service to clean the ducting for $400.
I would recommend it to anyone. Very pleased.
