shawn: I bought for my RV project. I added two car batteries for my old van to use as power source when I camping in the Van. I connected this meter to monitor the battery levels while I use them, but also watched for charge level after use. I works fine, so I bought a second one for my garage backup battery pack. I don't know how accurate I can be, but the reading is make sense (very similar) when cross check with my hand multiple mater.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: These are great little meters! Wanted to know just how much energy that my geothermal HVAC system was using. Supposed to be energy efficient... But just how much? Had no idea. So, I hooked two of these meters up to it. The top meter measures the energy being used by the heating/cooling system itself, and the other meter measures the energy being used by the pumping system that provides the water to the HVAC geothermal system. The combination of the two gives me the total energy being consumed by the system. Information that I otherwise would have never known and could only have guessed at.

John M.: I bought one over a year ago and it is still working. Really love the background lit up so you can easily see the numbers. Liked it so much that I bought another one to put on my EV charger line in the garage to see that it matches what my App/car is saying. I recommend this product!

MichaelMichael: Not sure how the picture will show on line as it kept laying it on it's side no matter what I tried. I wanted a way to monitor the power coming in on both phases of the 50amp into to our RV because I have had a lot of problems with faulty campground power boxes because of corrosion usually, faulty breakers where one half of the dual 50 amp breaker was bad and many other conditions usually a result of poor maintenance of the facilities. I Made the box shown so that both phases are shown, A on top and B below. The multimeters monitor voltage and current and of course with those the math for instant power readings and kilowatt hours consumed. Now I can see phase balance and or power input problems, ie. the voltages should be the same or at least with a couple of volts depending on the park wiring loads. The wiring shown has since been covered. The little volt meter on the bottom in red is the DC voltage coming straight out of the converter that runs your DC power while plugged in and battery power when not. I will be purchasing additional units as the price is right for the function and quality. The install did require cutting the locking tabs to fit the thickness of the plexiglass...

TibiTibi: If you want to get a better view of where the most of the electric bill is going, then this kind of meter is a must. Initially the meter was warming up a little bit when put on 240V because the original internal power supply is working to as little as 26V AC. The 1uF capacitor is too much for 240V. I had to reduce-it to 0.22uF to have no heat at all. This should take care of some issues that can develop over time with thermal stress, some reported their meter died. There is no need to keep the back screen light on since the view is so clear for this particular display. Overall very happy with my purchase.

L'AmazonerL'Amazoner: If you think the power value is wrong, it is because the formula to calculate the true / real / active power, is different than the formula P = U*I cause you need to consider the power factor. The load reflects some power into the web but is not consumed. That's why there is a correction. The seller helped me to understand my mistake.
I would had liked like everybody said, longer cables and extra cables for the direct connexion. The amount of time you need to connect those things because of their shortness is ridiculous.

oldbrownhat: I bought this to monitor the load on a 6kW Onan diesel generator I use to recharge my home battery backup system in emergencies. Inexpensive, but works just fine. I used CAT5 cable for the connections, doubling up the 8 wires to make 4 pairs. As others have commented, the leads on the CT transformer are short, but in many applications they'd likely need to be lengthened anyway, so I don't know what factory length might be considered useful.
Note: If you are also buying a box to mount this in, I'd recommend a metal one (or one with a metal front panel like this one: Electronics Enclosure Plastic Project Box 5.25" x 3.25" x 1.562" ) as the tabs that secure the unit don't allow quite enough clearance for the thicker wall of the plastic box I had on hand. However, I was able to shave a tiny bit off the tabs to accomodate this.

JimJim: I purchased this meter to check the current being used by various appliances that I plan to use in my trailer. I installed it in some sort of plastic electrical box I found at a big box home improvement store. I didn't want to use a larger double gang box and found this one for less than $2 including the cover plate. I had hoped to install this in the cover plate but it wasn't big enough so I cut out the side of the box with a rotary cutter in a dremel tool and it made for a pretty neat installation. I bought a cheap appliance (14 gauge) extension cord to run in and out of the box. My finished product is like an extension cord with the meter in the middle. Plug whatever you want to measure into the end of the cord and plug the other end of the cord into an outlet and instant current and voltage measuring capability. With the box being so small and the cord very thick it was a really tight fit and I would have been better off with a bigger box but it worked out OK.
The meter does most of what I want. It was easy to install but the instructions for setting the display are lacking. Some people complain about the locking tabs only being able to fit on a very thin faceplate. I was...

#1 Honest review: I’m using this on my small solar to see how much a/c is going in and another to see how many amps/ watts going out, this works perfect. I saw how some reviews said the screen glitches and no longer worked. In my situation I changed the position of the module and had that problem, thinking it was broke I was about to return, instead I wired once again and it started working. Come to find out to was a loose ground wire not tightened enough.
