Kalu Wu: There was a bleached spot on my new tshirt, but it didn't work. The bleached spot wasn't even turn black a bit. Totally trash and wasted my time

Hamish: I have dyed three pair of white heavy cotton socks and the results are great: even and deep color. Just what I wanted. I will report back after a few washings to comment on the durability.

debonlinedebonline: I was very happy to find a dye that doesn't require very hot water and machine washing since I didn't want to shrink my new white 100% cotton gauze shirt in the dying process. I was a little worried when the dye initially looked an orange/red color after adding water, but continued on hoping for the best. It turned out a perfect sunflower yellow just like shown on the package! (See picture). Very easy process if you take the time to read and carefully follow the directions. I even rewrote them and looked up how to convert all measurements to US cups and had everything ready before I started. After rinsing until I could no longer see dye in the rinse water, I put the dyed shirt in the washer on the spin/rinse cycle and then hung to dry. It went so well I'm going to order another color for another shirt! :)

So I ordered this without reading that it's the hand-wash version, happily opened it & emptied the contents into the washing machine with 2 pairs of black jeans.
Whilst they ended up blacker they were different to usual and this was a little odd. I then realised that I should've gone to Specsavers....

LASALLELU: I bought a green shade to improve a yellow top that I love but only looks good with a tan; Fl days are over; no longer will I have a rich tan, SO I added green dye to the original yellow; didn't want a dark green top, so I added two other pale chartreuze tops; they all look better however I didn't follow directions in that I should have done more stirring prior to adding fabric; and so I got a few dots of colour here and there. I will do it again; love the effect.

Rev. Staxx:
I am not a DIY-er. Growing up my mom was a costumer/seamstress and I watched her make hella messes everywhere dying fabric and clothing for the stage, and mom always came out with odd colored hands. I swore I'd never do it, the results might have looked great on stage, but the effort hardly seemed worth it for every day life (which, by the way, did not stop my mom from dying anything she could get her hand on if the mood struck her..!). Because I could never stand the mess it made, I never became a DIY-er - I'm a DIY idiot.
Recently I bought a pair of pants that were so nicely cut, I really wished I had a pair in black. I decided to go for it - times have changed, and I'm not running a theater costume shop, there's no need for stress or mess.
And I was right. I followed the directions explicitly. Pants were 100% cotton, brand new, so I washed them, but did not dry them. The directions say there's enough dye/dye-power to effectively dye about 1/2 pound of fabric, roughly equivalent to a large shirt or pair of pants. Perfect.
I decided I'd push it a little and drop in a light henley that was also 100% cotton and would likely take very...

JM:
I got this dye for two pairs of polyester/rayon blend pants. I love the pants, but the color had faded, so I thought I had to retire them. I heard about using dye to restore the color, but I was worried that it wouldn't work because that pants were 50% polyester. I got this Dylon dye because you can use warm water instead of boiling hot water. Hot water would not be good for the pants, which are cold water wash only.
I figured I had nothing to lose by trying the Dylon dye, so I did it in my stainless steel laundry sink. I lined the edges of the sink with some towels to catch any splashes and used two packs of dye for my two pairs of pants. I am happy to report that it worked perfectly and I was able to save the pants. I have worn and washed them a few times since the initial dye job, and they are still looking good and dark black. It was a small investment of time and money, and I have been able to keep some pants that I can't replace. So I am very happy with purchase and the results.
